This document introduces the Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) Warehouse, which is a way to offload AWR history from Oracle databases to a separate repository instance. This avoids purging AWR data and allows longer retention while preventing growth of the source databases. The document describes the components of AWR, why purging is typically needed, and how the AWR Warehouse configuration and ETL process works to extract, load, and map AWR snapshots to the separate repository database.
