1. AutoLISP Programming
That is the idea that I have got. I want to work as a free lance AutoLISP
programmer and make money with it.
I have been doing AutoLISP programming for more than 25 years. I'm very good at
it. Three months ago I started my own business.
Engineering firms and architects could make a good use of AutoLISP programs.
They help them to create AutoCAD drawings.
That is the problem with AutoCAD. It takes a lot of time before the AutoCAD
drawing is created. An AutoLISP program creates it in no time.
An AutoLISP program could create complete AutoCAD drawings. It could also create
parts of an AutoCAD drawing. That saves time too.
Having this idea. How do I go ahead? I haven't found customers yet. I guess I
need to change my marketing.
I have opened a blog and a newsletter. Every week the blog and newsletter are
send out. I don't know how many readers I have.
I have opened an account with Twitter and Facebook. The number of followers on
Facebook is 62. I don't know about Facebook.
My prospects are engineering firms and architects. But that is a too big market.
There are big firms and small firms.
I'm looking for getting engaged by the big firms. Investing money into an
AutoLISP program is no big deal for them. I guess.
I'm writing a small AutoLISP program. I hope to sell it to the smaller
engineering firms and architects.
I haven't done that yet. But I want to visit engineering firms, tell them about
what I do, and ask if they are interested.
If they are not interested, I want to know why they are not interested. Do they
have a problem with spending money? Or is there something else?
I heard that one. It is important to have somebody with experience that is
willing to act a as a mentor.
I haven't found such a person. Let's put it like this. I'm very interested in
finding a mentor, that could help me in my business.
