- APIs are the interface into the IT infrastructure. All new apps (mobile, web, …) will use APIs to send and receive data. API is actually a concept that today is on the agenda of C-level and board-level execs. They understand that APIs are what they need to change the way their businesses interact with their customers and prospects. => CX API Manager
- Build automation
- Delivering these kinds of solutions confronts us with a major challenge. The demand for new apps, portals and APIs comes in fast. And typically there is a lot of time pressure to deliver and keep focus. Because remember, we’re going head to head with someone who either already did it or is working on similar things. Whoever captures the market first wins. At the other end, there is our slow moving IT infrastructure. Our IT procedures are typically organized around monthly or quarterly releases. Our change management processes are not designed to deal with change on a weekly, daily or even hourly basis. You can’t release new versions of your customized SAP system every week! Integration technologies like the CXP will enable to open up the “slow” applications and provide standard services you can use in your APIs. => CX Messenger and CX Process

- But how do you provide new functionality quickly without have to go through the traditional change management procedures for your SAP system? Is there a shortcut? Microservices offer a solution. A microservice is a small purpose-built piece of software, managed by a small dedicated cross-functional team (dev, ops, and QA). It enables short delivery cycles and iterative improvement of small pieces of functionality that can complement the slow moving IT infrastructure. Over time they are created, evolve and potentially disappear. Disappear altogether or be assimilated into other systems like e.g. SAP. => CX Messenger microservice chassis
- The middleware platform needs to be as fast as the fastest participant in the delivery process. Microservices are typically built by teams that adopt DevOps methodologies. With DevOps there is a large focus on automation of software delivery.
- Build automation
- Cloud and cloud techniques are crucial to scaling infrastructure up to meet growing demand for digital channels. At the same time they are crucial to keeping cost in check with actual usage by scaling down if demand drops (e.g. night time). Cloud techniques can actually be applied in your own datacenters with virtualization and container-based approaches. At Aurea we focus on Amazon AWS for cloud-native services, but offer alternatives should you choose to run in your own datacenter or on the infrastructure of another cloud provider. Docker is a crucial enabler for this as it provides portability of containers to various types of infrastructure management. => Applies to all CX products that require 3rd party software (database, cache engine, …)

- In order to measure, learn and improve you need to collect data, persist it, analyze it and visualize it. Big data persistence, big data processing and data visualization are key enablers for this process. => CX Monitor with Spark, Cassandra and the Qlik OEM.
