The Augustine Preparatory Academy of Atlanta will begin an inaugural robotics program on October 17, 2011. The program will introduce students to robotics through building robots with kits using pulleys, gears and pneumatics. Students will then learn basic computer programming of robots using LEGO and NXT bricks. The class is limited to 24 students and will meet on Mondays from 3:30-5:00pm for 6 sessions between October and November. There is a $10 registration fee and $70 total cost for the program, or payments of $40 and $30 can be made.

Our Inaugural Robotics Program will begin
Monday, October 17, 2011
The Introduction to Robotics will start with non-programming modules. Each student will use kits with
illustrated step by step instructions to build robots using Pulleys, Gears and Pneumonics. This will help the
children understand how a robot works and moves. The students will begin the computer programming of
robots by the 4th session using LEGO for Education pieces and NXT Brick (computerized lego) with NXT-G
programming to run the robots.
In every class materials are provide to build complete robots with increased tasks and functional ability per
robot. The class is limited to 24 students per Session. This will allow us to exceed National Math, Science
and Technology Standards. The ratio per NXT brick will be 3:1.
Each Session will meet on Mondays from 3:30-5:00pm. There will be a one-time registration fee per child of
$10.00/child. This will be used to acquire the Programming Site License.
Payment for the Sessions are due Friday, October 7th.
Sessions will be held: 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, 11/28
Checks should be made payable to Germaine Schweibinz for the amount of $70.00 or they may be
broken into two payments (1st payment due 10/7 of $40.00 and the 2nd payment of $30.00 due 11/7)
