Some of you wanted to be able to cancel layaway orders on the Advance orders and
layaway management screen of Candela POS.
We took care of this in our release 12010:

You wanted a report which could show details of all cancelled layaway and advance
orders. Here is our new C-43A (Introduced in release 12010)

Some of you wanted to see details of multi tenders on A4 size receipt. Now you can do
so (Introduced in release 12009). Go to: System Configuration>Receipt tab and mark
the checkbox ‘Show Tender information of Receipt; then go to: Utilities>Setup and
Configuration>Receipt page set up screen and select SR-15 as receipt type.
The printed receipt will show the details:

Dear Techie,
Thank you for the clarification about the function of (999) Default
checkbox in your July newsletter.
Now there is one more thing that’s making me confused. I am an
apparel retailer and while defining products on the product definition
screen I selected all sizes and colors for my product and also entered
price of the defined product; but when I again opened the screen, no
price was displayed. Why this is so? I am so confused.

11. Dear Ardent Candela POS Fan,
Thanks you for trusting Candela POS.
The prices of products with size and color are not displayed on the main page and there is a
reason for it.
For example, if you have defined a shirt and attached three colors and three sizes with it, the
total number of SKUs (stock keeping units) will be nine. You may not want to sell all SKUs
at the same price; you may decide to charge a slightly higher price for a particular color, etc.
Candela retail software gives you the option to charge different prices for every SKU.
On the Product Definition screen, load the product and click Product Price tab. This screen
will show the list of all SKUs of the selected product. You can select each SKU and enter a
different price for each.
However, if you don’t want to define different prices for each SKU, you don’t have to do
anything. The price defined on the product definition screen will be the price of each SKU
even if it not displayed on the Product Definition screen.

12. Repeat After Me
• You can easily print a gift receipt by checking the checkbox ‘Gift Receipt’ on sales and
return screen before saving the receipt. (Gift receipts don’t display price information and
thus can be included with the gift. This makes it easy for gift recipients to return or
exchange their items)
• You can put a receipt on hold and move on to the next by pressing the Hold button on sales
and return screen. (This option is used when you want to hold a particular receipt and move
on to the next one).
• You can also enable auto receipt holding. Go to: System Configuration>Sale tab and mark
the checkbox “Auto Receipt Holding'. Now you will only need to press new to put the
receipt on hold.
• To make a sales return, click the ‘Return’ button on sales and return screen (the button will
turn red) and load the product being returned.

It’s Cool!
Apparel retail is apparently big on keeping it cool. At
least, in Japan sailing through summer could be a
breeze, literally so.
With a necktie fan, an air conditioned shirt and an
armpit cooler you will be all set to go on a jaunt in
Sahara itself. Accept for one caveat. You need to plug
your garments to a USB port, so this will require you
to lug along some extra baggage as you saunter
through the summer. But being plugged in is a small
price to pay to beat the heat, or is it?
