This document introduces the Global Azure Bootcamp 2017 Science Lab which uses distributed computing on Azure to run the Seliga algorithm in order to better understand star formation history by limiting the effects of uncertainties in observations and models. Participants will deploy packages running the Seliga algorithm on Azure Batch to contribute to astrophysics research and can compete on global dashboards to see scores. The science lab architecture maximizes Azure resource use by running the Seliga algorithm on an Azure Batch process that users can deploy and scale as desired.
Wellbore diagrams have been saved and maintained as Excel files which were generated from Legacy systems. The Engineers need to keep maintaining these files as they have the data in FINDER for the down-hole equipment’s, but no automatic way to generate the wellbore diagram. With the ever increasing number of wells and one engineer handling a lot of wells, the possibility to update the Excel based wellbore diagram and remembering which one is updated and which isn’t is a big challenge.
To address this challenge we developed an in-house application to automate the generation of wellbore diagrams with zero user intervention directly from FINDER. Right-Time Wellbore Schematics provides visualization of down-hole equipment’s throughout its lifecycle, including drilling, completion and workover operations. It is designed to provide a flexible and high-quality graphic engine to accommodate the needs of a variety of reports such as well design, detailed wellbore schematic and well workover history. It brings modern user interface for wellbore visualization to the user's desktop without the need for complex application installation or maintenance.
This presentation will shed light on our innovative approach for implementation of Wellbore Schematic application for the visualization of wellbore in 2D, incorporated with deviation survey data and its impact on the availability of data and its quality within the corporate FINDER database.
This document describes an oil regeneration system that extends the life of oils like transformer oil, turbine oil, and industrial oil by removing contaminants through an adsorption process. The system draws in used oil, filters it, passes it through regeneration cartridges that restore its properties, then collects and filters the regenerated oil. It saves money by extending oil life and is more environmentally friendly than disposing of used oil. The system can regenerate various types of oils at rates of 0.2-0.8 cubic meters per hour depending on the oil type.

It also discusses peach scab caused by the fungus Cladosporium carpophilu which causes cracked and rotting fruit, and recommends fungicide application and pruning to prevent spread. Finally, it mentions peach leaf curl caused by the fungus Traphrina deofrmans which causes defoliation, and recommends fungicide application in fall or spring to stop the fungus.

This document discusses the relationship between psychoanalysis, cinema, and acting. It argues that psychoanalysis and cinema are both concerned with fundamental human passions like love, hate, and ignorance. These passions also govern the actor's "erotic transference" to the character they are playing. Getting a scene right can take many retakes as the actor grapples with the lure of the character and encounters the real of these fundamental passions. The encounter with passion through a character cannot be planned but occurs during the process of multiple retakes as the actor aims to respond to the hysterical function of the character's allure.

A 2nd 90 minute webinar was hosted by the IAASB to discuss the key revisions to the auditor’s risk identification and assessment procedures, as introduced through the recently published ISA 315 (Revised) Exposure Draft. Listen to IAASB Task Force Chair Fiona Campbell as she goes through specific questions sent from stakeholders about the changes we are proposing.
The document discusses several topics related to auditing:
1. It explains the importance of auditing financial statements and ensuring their reliability for management decision making and for investors. Auditing provides assurance that accounting statements are authentic.
2. It discusses the objectives of an independent audit are to obtain reasonable assurance that financial statements are free from material misstatement and to report findings.
3. It outlines specific inquiries an auditor makes of management to evaluate subsequent events that may affect financial statements, such as new commitments, sales, increases in debt or capital, asset losses, or accounting adjustments.
The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) implemented the eQuip! Enterprise Asset Management system to better track their $4M in physical assets across California offices. Previously, CCRC used an error-prone Access database, but eQuip! provides a hosted, web-based solution connected to purchasing. The implementation was successful due to designating a full-time program manager, developing clear asset management processes, and connecting eQuip! to existing systems. CCRC now saves an estimated 10x the software costs annually through reduced labor and improved asset utilization, inventory audits, and insurance premiums.
Audit of Internal Financial Control over Financial Reporting (IFCR) A complet...Taufir Alam
Introduction to the Presentation on internal financial control over financial reporting_a complete guide
The Companies Act, 2013 has introduced some new requirements relating to audits and reporting by the statutory auditors of companies.
One of these requirements is given under Section 143(3)(i) of the Act which requires the statutory auditor to state in his audit report whether the company has adequate internal financial controls system in place and the operating effectiveness of such controls.
The section has cast onerous responsibilities on the statutory auditors because reporting on internal financial controls is not covered under the Standards on Auditing issued by the ICAI.
Since the concept of reporting on internal financial controls is still new in India this new reporting requirement has thrown up many challenges for the members.
To help the members properly understand and perform the various aspects of this reporting responsibility, the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has brought out this Guidance Note on Audit of Internal Financial Controls Over Financial Reporting.
The Guidance Note covers aspects such as Scope of reporting on internal financial controls under Companies Act 2013, essential components of internal controls, Technical guidance on the audit of Internal Financial Controls, Implementation guidance on the audit of Internal Financial Controls.
I have presented the above guidance note into a presentation that will have a complete guide for those who are planning to go for Audit of Internal financial control over financial reporting. this presentation will cover all the relevant aspects and also provide the standard operation process for the efficient conduct of the IFCR Audit. You don't need to read the complete Guidance note.

The Structural Approach to
Investigating Financial Statement
Fraud is the specialty practice
area of examiners that describes
engagements that result from
actual or anticipated disputes or
litigation. In litigation, 'Forensic'
means suitable for use in Court,
and it is to that standard and
potential outcome that fraud
examiners generally have to work.
Certified System Investigators
(CSI), Fraud Examiners (CFE) and
Forensic accountants (CPA) often
have to give expert evidence at the
eventual trial. All of the larger
accounting firms, as well as many
medium-sized and boutique firms,
have specialist forensic
accounting departments. Within
these groups, there may be further
sub-specializations: some forensic
accountants may, for example, just
specialize in insurance claims,
personal injury claims, fraud,
construction, or royalty audits.
This is where the distinction lies:
While Accounting firms do only
“Forensic Accounting” CSIs and
CFEs perform Investigations in
Financial Statement Fraud. This is
not the same thing — one is post
event, the other one is
pre-emptive.
Engagements relating to criminal
matters typically arise in the
aftermath of fraud. They frequently
involve the assessment of
accounting systems and accounts
presentation - in essence
assessing if the numbers reflect
reality. The CSI and CFE
determines whether there has
been any audit failure on the part
of the Accounting firm. This
seminar will train participants to
change from a justification mindset
to a pre-emptive mindset. It will
help them develop the capability to
render a service that can answer
the following questions, “What
have gone wrong? Could it have
been prevented in the first place?
Who is responsible for the mess?
The general idea is essentially to
prevent financial statement frauds
and when it does occur, how to
contain the damage and recognize
who is responsible for what in the
whole scheme of things.
This document discusses how RegTech is improving risk management, compliance, governance, and supervisory services for superannuation funds. It notes that regulatory changes are a major risk and that funds are finding changes overwhelming. RegTech helps address this through automating manual processes, monitoring compliance in real-time, and analyzing large datasets. The benefits of RegTech include increased efficiency, flexibility, security, and analytics capabilities. It also carries the risk of over-reliance on machines, so collaboration is important. The document provides advice on getting started with RegTech through assessing current state, options, and immediate opportunities while also considering additional risks.

China Enviornment: Auditor's Emphasis of Matterasianextractor
The auditor expresses an unqualified opinion that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of China Environment Ltd. as of December 31, 2014. The auditor's responsibility is to express an opinion on the financial statements based on their audit of the company's financial records and accounting practices. Management is responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with Singapore law and financial reporting standards and for implementing internal controls over financial reporting.
The document discusses asset lifecycle management and outlines the four main stages: 1) procuring an asset, 2) enablement and calibration, 3) management and optimization, and 4) disposal and evaluation. It provides an overview of each stage in the lifecycle, highlighting key processes like determining requirements, setting specifications, integration, and accounting procedures. The overall asset lifecycle management strategy aims to obtain optimal productivity from assets and reduce costs to increase financial returns for a company.

The "Big 4" audit firms - PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and Deloitte - dominate the global financial audit market. While they audit most large multinational companies, concerns have been raised about risks to audit quality from a lack of competition. Some proposals to address this include mandatory audit firm rotation or increased regulatory oversight of the audit process. However, others argue this could increase costs for companies without necessarily improving quality. Overall, there is debate around how to strengthen independence and effectiveness within the concentrated global audit industry.

Student Name Brief #5 Use of Audit Software: Review and Survey Date
Central Message: Auditing has had to change from “around the computer” to “through the
computer” due to sources only being available in electronic form. CAATs and CAATTs improve
efficiency and effectiveness of audits. A variety of standards and statements were issued because
new guidance was necessary once the growth of IT affected the nature, timing, and extent of audit
procedures. Continuous auditing is the key to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of audits.
Author’s Theme: Auditors are advised to use CAATs to gather evidence so that they can increase
the efficiency of inspection and analytical review. One of the many statements released on IT, SAS
94, stressed that IT’s impact on internal control is a result of the nature and extent of the system’s
complexity rather than the size of the firm, which is why auditing through the computer is
important when testing controls. Auditors can pinpoint the risk areas and thus have a better idea of
what to inquire when questioning management; improving the quality of the evidence and thus the
audit. Importance: Advancement in information technology has a direct impact on business
processes and the audit. Increasingly, auditors are required to perform audits in computerized
environments; therefore, additional standards are required to ensure that financial statements
auditors continue to perform high quality audits. Conclusion/Opinions: (1) The author concludes
that auditing through the computer is important when testing controls because of the impact IT has
on internal control. GAAS field work #2 supports this because the IT system is a part of the entity’s
environment, and especially, when it is complex, the auditor must audit through the computer to
adequately assess internal control risk. (2) Using CAATs can increase the efficiency of audit
procedures. SAS No. 106 indicates that CAATs allow auditors to inspect electronic evidence directly.
(3) Auditors should use data analysis from audit software in order to pinpoint the risk areas and
gain a better idea of what to ask management. AS # 5 states that risk assessment underlies the
entire audit process, including the determination of significant accounts and relevant assertions,
selecting controls to test, and determining the evidence necessary.

1) Does the audit program only include the testing that is to be done?1
2) Is the audit program an overall audit program for the entire engagement or does the audit
program have \"subsets\" for each area that we examine?1
3) What are the responsibilities of the client (an audit client)?1
4) How does the auditor determine the inherent risk, control risk, and detection risk of the
client?1
Solution
Answer – An audit programme is a detailed step wise plan to complete the audit work and it
includes testing and procedures to be followed while verifying items of financial statements.
Hence NO, audit programme does not include only testing to be done.
Answer - No, Audit program is not only an overall program for the entire engagement, but also it
covers objectives of each area. And it includes procedure and target time frame of each subset in
order to comply with audit objectives.
Answer – Some of the responsibilities of the audit client are like; compiling of financial
statements along with disclosing and describing each components. wheather assets, obligations,
and equities properly placed in financial statements. Client records show liabilities owed as of
the balance sheet date.
Answer – inherent risks involves material misstatement in financial statements. Some of major
reasons are involvement of judgment and estimation / audit of a newly formed institution as
compared to well established mfg concern.
Where as Control Risk is the risk of a material misstatement in the financial statements arising
due to absence or failure in the operation of relevant controls of the entity. Here organization
fails to put adequate control in business.
Detection Risk is the risk that the auditors fail to detect a material misstatement in the financial
statements. This risks can be controlled by improving sampling and population sizes..

Audit is cool
1. The spaceship of an auditor from Earth
landed on the green field of the planet
Kepler-3571c. The auditor had a task to
participate in a stock take of flying
horses herd.
This is not another story from Airstrip
One rubric. The purpose of this article is
to discuss future application of
technology in audit, but not as far as in
the above introduction.
3. The concept of materiality is applied
by the auditor both
in planning and performing the
audit, and in evaluating the effect of
identified misstatements on the audit
and of uncorrected misstatements, if
any, on the financial statements and
in forming the opinion in the
auditor’s report. Information is
material if it is likely to influence
financial statements users’
decisions.
