Church of the Highlands
Vision 2011
It is clear that we are part of something
much bigger than ourselves.
It’s a God story: a compelling epic,
an adventurous thriller. It is at times
beautifully poetic, sometimes funny,
and always life-changing.
It is a story full of the unexpected,
with many more pages yet to be written.
It’s all about reaching higher heights,
and experiencing real life through
Jesus Christ.
LETTERfromPastorChris
Dear Highlands Family,
The history of Highlands so far has been an incredible one: a story filled with
God’s provision, His awe-inspiring Presence, and His life-changing miracles.
We know that our future as a church continues to involve all of those things,
and couldn’t exist and thrive without them. But we also know that there are
many more people that need to be reached, hearts looking for their purpose,
and souls that long to be saved.
Since we launched our Auburn campus, our attendance there has increased
dramatically. In fact, the change has been so large that people are
overflowing into the aisles of the main auditorium, looking for a place to sit.
And in order to continue to complete our calling as a church, we are going to
need to expand our territory to a brand-new building in Auburn. A place we
believe will allow even more people than ever before to hear the life-changing
message of Jesus Christ.
The Auburn campus will include:
• A 1,000-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and video
• Space for a full-service Highlands Café
• A Growth Track room and a place for our Dream Teamers to hang out and
store their things while they serve
• Additional office space to help accommodate the growing needs of the
	 church as a whole.
We realize that this building is just that – a building – and what truly makes
it unique is God’s Spirit. So as always, all I ask you to do is seek God. Ask
Him specifically what part you can play in making this dream a reality. I know
one day we will look back on our investment in
Auburn, see the lives that have been changed,
and be grateful to God that we answered His call.
Pastor Chris
VISION
BUILDINGThe
• The auditorium will have seating for 1,000.
• The parking lot has spaces for 602 cars.
• We will have a full-service Highlands Café set up for
	 building relationships.
• Our Dream Team and Growth Track rooms will provide
even more space for our members and attendees.
FAQs
Why are we planning for a brand-new
building in Auburn?
Growth has been exponential at our Auburn campus. From a first
Sunday count of 685 to a current average of 1,348 attendees
every Sunday, we are weekly facing difficulties providing space
for all of the students, families, and adults that want to attend
a service. The new building will give us not only more room for
people, but also allow for the campus to grow.
What will the new building be like?
Our new Auburn campus will be fully equipped to better serve
people. The main auditorium will have a state-of-the-art sound,
lighting and video system; we will be building a Highlands Café
set up to not only serve great coffee drinks but also give people
a place to hang out. And the addition of our Growth Track and
Dream Team areas will give us even more space to provide for
Sunday service needs.
When will be building be ready?
The new Auburn campus should be ready by January of 2013.
What can I do?
Pray that the Lord will direct you in how to give to this
project so that we are able to keep the process moving as
quickly as possible. It is going to take teamwork to achieve
our goal. We have never been a high-pressure church;
we have simply shared our vision and let the Lord move.
All we have to do is pray and as God provides, do what’s
in our heart. Paul said, “Each of you should give what you
have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or
under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
(2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV)
FrequentlyAskedQuestions
LETTERfromPastorBrandon
Dear friends,
It excites me when I think about all that God is doing at the Auburn
campus. A solid foundation of great leadership has been set in place
over the past four years, and we have seen so many people come to
know Christ throughout our city.
The thought of more people hearing the message of Jesus Christ and
discovering their God-given purpose is the driving force behind why we
exist as a church. God has truly blessed our campus and as we move
forward into our new building, we want to position ourselves for Him to
do an even greater work in the Auburn/Opelika area.
This is so much more than a building. This is an opportunity for God to
reveal himself to more people and I am honored to serve with you and
invest my life into the vision of Church of the Highlands Auburn.
Brandon Isbell
Auburn Campus Pastor
“My family and I have had a spiritual awakening since we have been
at Church of the Highlands. Our relationship with Jesus and our
church family has taken us to newer heights. Sundays are our most
important and joy-filled day of the week, and we actually mean
it now!”
-The John Mann Family
“Over the past four years the Auburn Campus of Church of the
Highlands has been life-changing for three generations of our
family. The life-giving principles that Church of the Highlands
teaches have also impacted family members as far away as Florida
and Nebraska! We love our church!”
-Chris and Brenda Jane
“After many years of partying, I hit a dead-end street that left me
[not only] really lonely and insecure, but it also left me vulnerable
and in need of something, someone to help me out of the mess of
a life I was in. In that place I asked Jesus to help me and He led me
to Church of the Highlands. The cool thing about it is He not only
provided me with what I needed – friends that loved Him – He also
knew what I wanted: a place to express the gifts he put inside me.”
-Ashley Wingo
“I never dreamed that when our family moved to Auburn four years
ago to help launch this church that we would love this church
and community as much as we do right now. We ourselves were
launched into ministry and leadership like never before and it
has been incredibly amazing and life-changing! We get to serve
not only our peers but we also have the awesome privilege of
investing our time and lives into college students. Lives are being
transformed before our very eyes and it’s just so exciting! We love
our church.”

We love our church!” -Chris and Brenda Jane “After many years of partying, I hit a dead-end street that left me [not only] really lonely and insecure, but it also left me vulnerable and in need of something, someone to help me out of the mess of a life I was in. In that place I asked Jesus to help me and He led me to Church of the Highlands. The cool thing about it is He not only provided me with what I needed – friends that loved Him – He also knew what I wanted: a place to express the gifts he put inside me.” -Ashley Wingo “I never dreamed that when our family moved to Auburn four years ago to help launch this church that we would love this church and community as much as we do right now. We ourselves were launched into ministry and leadership like never before and it has been incredibly amazing and life-changing! We get to serve not only our peers but we also have the awesome privilege of investing our time and lives into college students. Lives are being transformed before our very eyes and it’s just so exciting! We love our church.” -Summer Kempfer TESTIMONIES
