- 6. 6 The Auburn Maintenance Facility was undertaken in partnership with John Holland and consulting engineers Kellogg Brown Root. The task was to collect 11 million litres of water from a 1-in-100 years storm event over 300,000sq.mts. for discharge to a local waterway.

Each detention tank is linked in a subsurface ‘ chain of ponds’ arrangement before being released into Duck Creek. - Human development has disrupted natural balance in the lands infiltration capacity being able to absorb water.
- Atlantis is more than an Environmental Water Management company adding the concepts of Ethical and Sustainable, mainly in comparison to desalination plants or to traditional sewage treatment plants which are neither Ethical or Sustainable. Desalination plants are extremely contaminating for several reasons including massive power consumption and thus a huge carbon footprint, in addition to the vast amounts of salts that are pumped back into the ocean that serve to contaminate it. Sewage treatment plant are also very contaminating, for similar reasons.Before Atlantis, underground water storage was a very impractical and expensive proposition, today it is very simple, feasible and Atlantis has created a very interesting segment of the water industry that has been imitated by other companies, although not as successfully.
