Enhancing Worker Digital Experience: A Hands-on Workshop for Partners
Asyncode platform
1. Asyncode Platform
“It’s like Bootstrap for the entire app
..building process”
“A framework for full-stack
development using HTML only”
2. Who Are We?
Ela Bednarek, CEO
HTML5.CSS3.Bootstrap.UX.Economics.Operations.Strategy
Experience: euro changeover liaison management, policy analysis,
managing teams
Adrian Kalbarczyk, CTO
JavaScript.Python.JSON.MongoDB.HTML5.CSS3.UX.Strategy
Experience: 15y of programming, 3y running his own business
3. The Problem
The EU
900 000 unfilled IT jobs, most are some kind of software development
The US
by the year 2020 the U.S. will have 1 million unfilled computer programming jobs
Tech City, London
-15,000 New Tech Startups (April 2012-13)
-Lack of tech personnel: 44% say it’s their biggest challenge
77% say it’s actively restricting growth
A growing challenge despite many initiatives to overcome it!
4. Solution: simplify building software
We make apps development:
• possible to learn within days,
• accessible to anybody with basic HTML and
CSS skills,
• error-proof,
• blazing-fast...
...without limiting the functionality - most things that can be
done in programming languages such as Python or Javascript,
can be done with Asyncode framework.
5. So What Exactly is Asyncode Platform?
PaaS
solution
(prototype built)
Code editor
plugin
(already built for Komodo Edit)
Asyncode
Framework
(already built)
6. What can be build within a 3h training by a
non-tech person?
^LinkBox: Built by Thomas in 3 hours
7. The past...
Late 2008 - development of the framework begins
Nov 2010 - first money earned on custom software built using
the framework; Asyncode sp. z o.o. established
Jan 2011 - switched to NoSQL database MongoDB
Mar 2011 - ObjectPath created and incorporated into framework
Sep 2011 - stable version of Asyncode framework introduced
May 2013 - biggest project so far: online collaboration system
for a Polish SME, 100 happy users and $60k revenue
Nov 2013 - started building a new frontend part of the
framework and began gathering a community
Dec 2013 - first apps on mobile thanks to PhoneGap (and the
new frontend)
8. The present...
• 20 projects in total (4 permanent paying customers)
• 30 non-tech people successfully trained to use the platform
• Partnership with Activatorium.com, a Polish startup
community, negotiating cooperation with British schools
… and the future
• earning money on the Asyncode Platform and not the
software built with Asyncode Framework (change in the
business model)
• integration of external services APIs
• automation of the service
9. Vision for the future
Empowering every person on the planet to
build their own apps that solve everyday
problems
Our goal is to disrupt software development at least as much as
document databases such as MongoDB disrupted data
storage
