Information and the effects of health emergencies move at lightening speeds, by time a population of a
hundred is infected thousands are aware of the impeding dangers through social media. “The proliferation
of mobile technology is an influencing force in how consumers access health information”. It is this very
quote from the health informatics textbook “Introduction to Healthcare Informatics” by Susan H. Fenton
and Sue Biedermann that embodies the role social media and healthcare companies have during large-
scale health threats and possible epidemics. It is here that I desire to master my skill set and dedicate my
career to Health Communication in particular e-Health literacy and help society adapt to the new face of
healthcare globally.
I have a very eclectic and valuable background. My education and experience includes a radio
broadcasting degree, Associate's degree in Business Administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Health
Systems Management. With such a wide-range of experience I am able to deliver just the right amount of
creativity to any corporate project. I am naturally a people's person and a storyteller, which means I will
be able to convey the message of the client to their target audience. I love creating presentations,
conducting research,and copy writing.
As aforementioned my career goal is to help society adapt to the new face of global healthcare.
Long term I want to act as a marketing liaison that will connect various key players within the
healthcare system, whether it be physician to shareholders/stakeholders, physician to staff or
physician to patients, driving the narrative for healthcare literacy within each subgroup and being
a part of the pivotal movement to merge healthcare service delivery with e-Communications.
Some of the responsibilities I desire to learn and perform in order to achieve these goals includes
creating corporate communications that are directed at specific audiences including the general
market place via news, newsletter, targeted correspondence, service line promotion, and social
media, to the client base; planning and coordinating client events and other strategic market and
client outreach activities and corporate events; developing and implementing strategies to
support client and community engagement; developing the marketing strategies to bring
awareness to new innovations within national and international telemedicine.
It is truly an exciting time to be a part of healthcare; the discovery of new diseases, better
treatments, enhanced quality of patient centered care, will always be a time driven endeavor, but
health communications makes it inclusive, creating an intuitive community of new ideas and
perspective. “Innovation - any new idea - by definition will not be accepted at first. It takes
repeated attempts, endless demonstrations and monotonous rehearsals before innovation can be
accepted and internalized by an organization. This requires courageous patience”. - Warren G.
Bennis. I desire to be a part of that courageous patience that is changing the world of healthcare.
I am dedicated to continuously developing and educating myself in the company’s needs and my areas of
