This document describes three test methods (A, B, and C) for determining the concentration of chloride ions in water, wastewater, and brines. Test Method A involves a mercurimetric titration with an acidified sample and indicator. Test Method B is a silver nitrate titration intended for samples with 5 mg/L or more of chloride that may be colored or contain heavy metals. Test Method C uses an ion-selective electrode method. The document provides details on the procedures, interferences, calculations, precision and bias obtained from validation studies for each test method.
