Human behavior
impacting
communities
Human behaviors are
influenced by an individual‟s
culture, attitudes
emotions, values, ethics, and
many more.
Human Behavior in the Workplace


Understanding different
human behaviors can
be difficult. There are
many diverse people in
the world today and
manager‟s can have
hard times figuring how
to understand each. A
manager has to control
a safe and productive
environment with
different behavior and
performance skill such a
procrastinator, a
joker, and a control
freak.
Human Behavior in the Workplace


This person is usually not
trusted in the workforce
when it comes to relying on
them to hand in results on
time. It can be
overwhelming to work with
and frustrate the office at
times. But this individual
can be trusted when it
comes to detailed and
accurate work.

The Procrastinator

This individual can be
either the
boss, subordinate, or a
consultant. They are
very
demanding, bossy, and
can come of rude most
the time. It is hard for
most to understand his
or her
behavior, therefore, he
might be disliked in the
office.
The Control Freak

Human Behavior in the Workplace


The ambassador of
entertainment who is
witty and sometimes
hilarious. The person
loves the limelight and
does anything to have
the focus on himself.

The Joker



This person cannot say
“no” to anything. He or
she will go above and
beyond to keep peace
amongst coworkers. His
attitude can do no harm
to a company but it can
hinder him from being
that person a company
really wants to hold on
to.

The People Pleaser
Controlling Behaviors in the
Workforce


Having different personalities in a
workplace can be positive or negative.
To maintain a positive atmosphere, a
manager must learn each individual
personally. Build their trust and
communicate frequently and openly.
Expect the best from the staff which can
create great team moral. Many
personalities in the workforce can be a
great asset and build team chemistry.
Human Behavior in School


It can be a challenge to manage and
control a classroom full of completely
different personalities and upbringings.
What one student‟s strengths and be
another student‟s weakness. There is no
single approach to reach all students so
even the most effective teacher or principle
can have a difficult challenge.
Although, teacher‟s go into this profession
to help mold and grow young children even
with the difficult task.
Human Behavior in
School
Bullying has become a
large part in schools.
These insecure
individuals target
people who cannot or
will not defend
themselves. They can
physically or mentally
abuse anyone it targets
Human Behavior in School


Popularity is a big
deal in school. Most
of this fame is based
on looks. With
these physical
features, the popular
crowd become very
sociable. They are
able to talk their way
out of situations and
get most of the
things wanted.
Human Behavior in
School
A natural leader is someone
that people look up too.
They are also very well liked
and well rounded. Leading
by example is often their
motto,. People listen when
these individuals talk and are
highly motivated to succeed.
Human Behavior in School


With all different personalities in school
it can be challenging to notice them all.
Each person much learn from one
another because teacher‟s cannot
change everyone‟s life. There are many
ups and downs in school. The highs can
be real high while the lows can be real
low.
Human Behavior in the
Community


Everyone‟s personality and way of being is
different. Each person can shape and
grow based on people they come in
contact with. There are both a positive and
a negative impact in society that change
people daily. A good deed can lead to
someone paying in forward or vice versa.
Maybe someone was abused by a stranger
and feels the need he must do the same.
This can change someone‟s performance
also in a positive or negative way.
How Assistive Technology
Impacts the Workplace


Accommodations and the assistive
technology needed depend very much
on the individual and the situation. If an
individual has low vision, assistive
technology can magnify the programs
used on the computer screen. Another
solution is to have speech systems that
allow the user to hear mostly instead of
using their eyes.
How Assistive Technology
Impacts the Schools


Learning disabilities do
not go away with time.
However, assistive
technology can help
children with learning
disabilities leverage
their strengths and work
around or compensate
for specific learning
problems. These
supports can be key to
helping people become
more independent in
school and throughout
life—on the job and in
activities for daily living.
How Assistive Technology
Impacts the Community


A common assistive technology used in
the community is a wheelchair. Many
elderly or physically disabled individuals
use this tool to get around town and to
their jobs. This technology helps others
adapt to the disability they were given to
give them a chance of being what
society calls „normal‟.
Human Activity Assistive
Technology Model (HAAT)
(HAAT)


This model is proposed as a framework
for understanding the place of assistive
technology in the lives of persons with
disabilities, guiding both clinical
applications and research investigations.
Its four major components are the
human, the activity, the assistive
technology, and the context.
Major performance areas of
Assistive Technology


An assistive
technology system is
designed through the
process of assessing
a consumer‟s
needs, goals, and
skills. It can be used
with individuals with
disabilities such as
hearing loss, low
vision, and little
mobility.
Summary


Overall, assistive technology can help
change people‟s lives with disabilities. This
helps give the people the needed boost to
have an even playing field. People need
different help wherever they are in life. A
person in school, work, or just in the
community need different assistive
technologies to seem more normal. In the
end, assistive technology boosts
individuals confidence and can give them
dreams they never thought were possible.
