This is a workshop presentation at the NADP 2013 Conference. The graphs and information come from a survey of students in receipt of the Disabled Students Allowances 2012 - 841 students answered the survey call and we are extremely grateful for their help.

3. What kind of assistive technology can help my students with ADHD? Touchscreen Monitor Systems: all for hands-on interaction. Tablet PC: allow for movement and travel within the classroom. Web Tools: such as Inspiration, Kidspiration, and Draftbuilder are an easy way for students to keep information organized and stay focused. Paper Based Computer Pens (smart pens): allow students to record lecture and refer to it while reviewing notes.
4. What kind of assistive technology can help my students with auditory disabilities? Personal Frequency Modulation Systems: allows teachers to broadcast their voices through microphones that are heard by students on special frequencies. Induction Loops : Allows teachers to create an electromagnetic current while speaking that can be heard through the hearing aid. One to One Communicators: A microphone that amplifies the speaker’s voice and delivers it directly to the students hearing aid.
5. What kind of assistive technology can help students with autism? Video Taping : helps promote appropriate social skills and language comprehension skills. Daily Computer Use: Has been useful for decreasing behavior problems, need for self-stimulation, and increase attention span. Touch Window Computers : allow students to interact with and navigate computer.
