1. First empathize, try understanding what they are going through. Try to find out what's causing them to act that way.
2. Talk to them but don't try to help, give them a chance to blow off some steam. Listen and try to understand his or her frustrations, but never get involved it them.
3. Find out what makes them happy, talk about the things that makes them smile. Maybe it's a child or a spouse, a hobby or sports that gives them joy and remind them of that.
4. Listen to what they are not saying, pay attention to how they really feel, things they say between the lines. You can hear it the dark humor they may use to deal with their hurt.
5. Have fun, sometimes a good laugh is all that is needed to change a bad attitude. Just allowing a little fun may change a negative into a positive behavior.

There are many ways to deal with a rude customer that has a nasty attitude with one of your workers as a manager. The three effective ways that come to my mind when dealing with a rude customer is being caring, actively listening, and staying calm no matter the situation. In my opinion, the easiest way to calm an angry customer is being empathetic; show them that you care. Know the reason why they are mad makes this skill easier. Listening and doing it actively can play a big role when it comes to diffusing an angry customer. If you are listening to the words of the angry customer, you can easily figure out how to fix the problem. This document provides more information about the portfolio project and guidelines to complete each
content area to the best of your ability. Use the information here and contained in the syllabus to answer
initial questions you may have. And don’t forget to include citations for every piece of text you reference
or use to help you formulate your own work. You can either include a short works cited/bibliography at the
end of each content area, or one large works cited/bibliography encompassing all content areas. Any style
is fine so long as it is consistent.
Meeting
You need to schedule a 30-minute meeting with me during the term. You should bring two content areas of
your choosing with you for review. These need to be full first drafts, not merely ideas or notes. I will read
as much as time permits to provide you feedback on how to improve these pieces of writing and approach
the remaining content areas. I will also give you a sense of where you stand with your APC grade.
Fallacies
For the fallacies content area, you should find examples of fallacies committed in texts or videos.* If all
else fails, create a dialogue between different persons that represents fallacious arguments you have heard
in the past or in which you were personally involved. After providing the fallacy, you should identify the
fallacy and then explain how this text, video, or dialogue commits this fallacy.
Students usually complete this section in one of three ways. One option is to provide a number of
examples with brief explanations (roughly 5-8 fallacies). The second option discusses fewer fallacies in
more depth (roughly 2-3 fallacies). Finally, other students take up some issue of the day and locate a
number of fallacies in arguments surrounding that issue. This third option usually involves discussing
fewer fallacies in depth as well, thereby overlapping with the second option.
Morals and Markets
While some people attempt to respond to the overall claims of Sandel’s book – and this is all well and good
– I encourage everyone to focus on at least two concrete cases or scenarios he raises. This will allow you
to provide a more in-depth response or investigate a case even further. Some people also use this as an
opportunity to perform light research in order to substantiate or criticize various points in the book. Feel
free to bring in other cases that display a dilemma of norms in a market-driven culture.
* You should not simply repeat fallacies from our textbook, another logic textbook, or some website
dedicated to explaining fallacies. There would be no point to such an exercise. The purpose is to display

This paper should be 5 - 7 pages in length (double-spaced).

This document provides more information about the portfolio project and guidelines to complete each
content area to the best of your ability. Use the information here and contained in the syllabus to answer
initial questions you may have. And don’t forget to include citations for every piece of text you reference
or use to help you formulate your own work. You can either include a short works cited/bibliography at the
end of each content area, or one large works cited/bibliography encompassing all content areas. Any style
is fine so long as it is consistent.
Meeting
You need to schedule a 30-minute meeting with me during the term. You should bring two content areas of
your choosing with you for review. These need to be full first drafts, not merely ideas or notes. I will read
as much as time permits to provide you feedback on how to improve these pieces of writing and approach
the remaining content areas. I will also give you a sense of where you stand with your APC grade.
Fallacies
For the fallacies content area, you should find examples of fallacies committed in texts or videos.* If all
else fails, create a dialogue between different persons that represents fallacious arguments you have heard
in the past or in which you were personally involved. After providing the fallacy, you should identify the
fallacy and then explain how this text, video, or dialogue commits this fallacy.
Students usually complete this section in one of three ways. One option is to provide a number of
examples with brief explanations (roughly 5-8 fallacies). The second option discusses fewer fallacies in
more depth (roughly 2-3 fallacies). Finally, other students take up some issue of the day and locate a
number of fallacies in arguments surrounding that issue. This third option usually involves discussing
fewer fallacies in depth as well, thereby overlapping with the second option.
Morals and Markets
While some people attempt to respond to the overall claims of Sandel’s book – and this is all well and good
– I encourage everyone to focus on at least two concrete cases or scenarios he raises. This will allow you
to provide a more in-depth response or investigate a case even further. Some people also use this as an
opportunity to perform light research in order to substantiate or criticize various points in the book. Feel
free to bring in other cases that display a dilemma of norms in a market-driven culture.
* You should not simply repeat fallacies from our textbook, another logic textbook, or some website
dedicated to explaining fallacies. There would be no point to such an exercise. The purpose is to display
that you can apply the concept of a fallacy to real-world cases, not ones already identified by others.

For this assignment, you will not be arguing a particular point of view. The goal of this assignment is to use evidence from the social psychological research literature to address whether or not there is support for a popular proverb or saying about social behavior.
This paper should be 5 - 7 pages in length (double-spaced).
You first need to choose a proverb to write about (see potential list below). You are encouraged to choose one of the proverbs from this list, but you may also come up with your own as long as your instructor approves your choice.
After choosing a proverb, you will need to find at least 2 references from psychological / sociological peer reviewed journals that contain social psychological research that is relevant to your proverb.
You'll need to read the articles and summarize/ describe them in your report. Be sure to only use articles that directly address the issue presented in the proverb.
For the paper itself, you will do the following:
1. Present the proverb you are interested in, along with your own personal "theory" about whether the proverb is true or not.
2. For each of the two articles (studies) you find, do the following:
-Describe the study that was done - what was the hypothesis? What were the independent and dependent variables?
-Describe the findings. If the article is complex, it's ok to just focus on the findings that are relevant for your proverb.
-Offer a summary of whether the study supports or refutes the proverb.

Blumberg’s Nursing Home (BNH) is a 100-bed Medicare and Medicaid certified facility in suburban Philadelphia, PA. The charge nurse has been appointed interim DON. The human resource manager has sent a memo to all staff informing them of a mandatory staff meeting to discuss BNH’s code of ethics and to provide additional training on workplace culture. Because federal law requires that there be at least one (1) registered nurse on duty for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, and that the DON must be a registered nurse (RN) – which the interim DON is not – BNH is out of compliance.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic Imperative
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

This week you have learned about the four primary perspectives in social psychology: sociocultural, evolutionary, social learning, and social cognitive, all of which can be used to describe social interactions; however, depending on the situation, some may be a better fit than others. Let's consider an important issue in social psychology— aggression—specifically the gender differences in aggression. For this discussion we will assume that men are more aggressive than women. Discuss how each perspective would explain this relationship. Out of these four perspectives share which one you believe has the best explanatory power for explaining why there is a gender difference in aggression. Discuss at least three assumptions that this perspective would make in explaining this relationship.
