PHP Framework
Sam was working on his first PHP project and found that as requirements changed, his code became messy and difficult to understand. He researched PHP frameworks and found that model-view-controller (MVC) architectures with business and presentation layer frameworks could help him write cleaner code and avoid duplicating routine tasks. Sam wanted a framework that was secure, had a short learning curve, was flexible, lightweight to improve performance, and didn't constrain his coding. He chose Celeroo Frame which cleaned up his messy code, allowed flexibility, improved performance, and helped him get promoted to work on larger projects. When to (use / not use) React Native.

It does not replace writing code for each platform but allows sharing business logic code across iOS and Android. React Native uses JavaScript to handle views and state while native platform code handles rendering, animations, and other native tasks. This provides native performance with cross-platform code reuse. Challenges include different data types between JavaScript and native platforms and some debugging requiring Xcode.

Many attendants expressed that they have already received requests to create mobile apps for Joomla! sites. From our perspective, mobile web-enabled apps for Joomla! are "the next big thing", likewise Bootstrap responsive design adoption.

Electron allows developers to build desktop applications with web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. AOP works by defining points in the program execution, called join points, where additional behavior can be inserted. This additional behavior is defined through advice that runs before, after, or around join points. Pointcuts are used to identify which join points specific advice should apply to. Aspects group advice and pointcuts to encapsulate a concern.

This is what we will discuss in this session -- main drivers for modernizing, the reasoning for choosing for TypeScript, React and GraphQL and will discuss our strategy implementing it, including two failed attempts. Building a µservice with Kotlin, Micronaut & GCP
