Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!
New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

2. I’m about to tell you about my website: askkellyforadvice.com Where you: “Get Advice From An Ordinary You”
3. What makes me qualified to give Advice? Ask yourself, have you ever laid any of your burdens on a bartender? Do you think that a bartender has heard, seen, and felt all different types of emotions, feelings and even felt themselves what the reality of life is? Do you think that a bartender is just like anyone else…someone that works, a father, married and have responsibilities to their families?
5. My Experience (When giving Advice.) 16 years behind the bar…yes, 16 years. I have given thousands of Advice over the years. When giving Advice, I am always (100%) brutally honest, straightforward and don’t sugar coat. Friends often just tell you what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear. 90 % of the Advice I give, I get a Thank-you. I give Advice based on reality of life…
6. About my Website: 100% Ad-Free Website. This means NO ADS whatsoever, anywhere on my site. No annoying Pop-Ups either. No Spyware or Spam attached to the website. The Website is 100% real, just as the Advice I give. I do have to charge $3.99 just to maintain the website (It does cost for someone to host the site on their server.) The Website host (or server) is privately owned with state of the art equipment which is better for your privacy.
7. About Me… Proud Father. I have been married and divorced. I volunteer at a local homeless shelter during my free time. I’m a bartender (I think I already gave away that secret) I do push the ‘snooze’ button more than once. More importantly, I’m just like you…I work, am a proud parent , and I have the same troubles as you. My Motto…”Get Advice From An Ordinary You” Want to know more about me? Visit me at MySpace.com/askkellyforadvice
8. The types of Advice I have given: Relationships Dating Love Marriage & Divorce Sex Career Teen Parenting Spiritual & Ethical And more…
9. Dating: The dating process is hard enough, it’s like a job interview. Getting to know each other…likes and dislikes. A little nervous, not knowing where to go on a first date or if he or she even likes the same thing you like. You really like the other person, but how do you know if the other person likes you? Are you compatible? Your doing your best trying to impress the other person so much that you forget who you really are at times. This is the first stage in getting to know each other, but a lot of questions are floating around inside your head during this stage. What do you do?
10. Relationships: If the dating process goes well, then you form a special bond by forming a relationship with each other. The both of you gets to know one another even more closely and form a special type of attachment with another. Your feelings starts to grow, your heart starts to flutter more quickly than the norm… More questions arise inside your head. Is this going to last? What is this feeling I feel toward the other person? Should I become more intimate? All these questions are normal, it’s human nature.
11. When a relationship progresses, intimacy comes. Getting to know each others body by using all your 5 senses. Sex becomes more than just sex…it becomes more of an emotional attachment. The flirtation increase such as more kissing, more physical attraction and more of a connection between the two. But sometimes, you doubt your abilities in pleasing the other partner. Why can’s he last longer? Why isn’t he getting erected, is it me? What can I do to get him to give me an orgasm? What can I do to convince the other to try different positions? Why am I so self-conscious about my body? What is the difference between sex and making love? When concerning sex or making love, this subject can get complicated… So what do you do??? Sex:
12. LOVE: What a wonderful feeling this is… When love grows, it’s the best feeling in the world. Your always on cloud nine and feel euphoric all throughout the day. The main question when it comes to love is… Is it love, lust, deep desire to fill in the lonely gap or just infatuation? LOVE
14. Marriage: There are two different types of marriages in our society. Heterosexual and Same Sex Marriage… When it comes to marriage, it is a beautiful bond: Heterosexual or Same Sex. With both types of marriages, the Heart still feels the joy, wonders and the excitement of any type of marriage. Two hearts linking is always a beautiful thing. The question is…What can you do to keep the marriage burning, everlasting and how to overcome many obstacles that comes with a marriage? How can you keep a marriage in the honeymoon stage always? (Yes, this is possible)
16. Divorce: Sometimes Divorce is inevitable… You realize that sometimes that the marriage was a mistake and no matter what you do, reconciliation is not an option. The origin for the grounds of Divorce can have many different reasons… How do you cope with the Divorce? Can the Marriage ever be resolved? What can you do to lighten the pain that is associated with Divorce? What about the children, if any, is involved?
17. Career In Life, sometimes we put our careers first ahead of everything else, even sometimes…ahead of our own family. We loose track of time and let it slip away. Our time management sometimes gets lost somewhere between 6am to 6am the next morning. Having a career and a job defines who and what we are, it is our identity!!! But sometimes we loose the sight of relaxation and just enjoying our families and us. With the demands of our careers, how can we juggle everything else and learn the proper time management skills? What career path should you take? What if we choose the wrong one? How do I climb up? Just remember, what you choose will define who and what your are.
19. Parenting: Being a parent can be both challenging and rewarding at the same time for either a single parent or for a family that is still a whole unit. There can be conflicting interests when rearing a child or children when the parents are conflicting. Either way, when a child has the love and support from both the parents, the child will grow up to feel the love, so he or she can pass it on to the next generation. If raising a child does become difficult or anything arises, get help, or if need be, get some advice about what to do in certain situations.
21. TEENS: When it comes to teens, they have a mind of their own, either their own mind or through the minds of their peers. They are so easily persuaded by their friends and more than often, sometimes listens to them more than the parents. So what do we do to let the teens know that the parents know what’s best for them and to bring them into reality? What is the best way to bring them up, especially in this society? What do we do when they don’t listen and rebel? What about when they begin to experiment with drugs or start dating?
23. Spiritual: Just about everyone is somehow spiritually connected to a certain belief spiritually. Sometimes, we often loose the faith in our belief and it brings us to a crossroad not knowing which path to take. Is it the path to righteousness or a path of unforgiveness? How can we decide on what to believe in anymore, especially when life is not turning the way that we have anticipated? Does it feel like a dead end road? What can we do to bring our faith into a harmonious state? What can we do to bring peace into our lives?
25. ETHICS 101: Ethics 101 vs. Morals: What is the difference? Morals are what we believe in and what stands for our own uniqueness. Ethically, our decisions are based on what society has molded us into and what the rules that they want us to follow. The main question is, how do we combine the two to live by our own standard along with society? What is more important to us? Our own individual attribute or societies standards? Ethically, it might be right, but morally, it is wrong…How do we choose? What is the right thing to do vs. what really should be done?
26. ADVICE: It seems like no matter where we go or what we do, we are always in need of advice, either through a second party (mostly, which is not neutrally based) or through a third party such as myself. When going through a third party, he or she will not be bias, not judge and be more prone to tell you what you need to hear instead of what you want to hear. This is where I come in…
27. I want you lay to your burdens upon me and let me help. I do understand that life can get difficult at times and I want to be there to help guide you in the right direction. So here I am, I want you to abuse my ears….If you would like to get to know me first, check out the next slide. Let me do the thinking for you…
