We had an early morning flight from Cracow to Warsaw, then a connecting flight to Oslo where we had a long layover. We then stayed with a host family in Mindsund, Norway. During our stay we represented our country, ate meals prepared by Norwegian students, and played games. We visited several tourist sites including the Atlantic Road, Kristiansund, and climbed local mountains. We also went to an oceanarium, cooked, and visited the city of Alesund. On our last day, we took a boat trip, fished, kayaked, and had a farewell dinner before flying back to Poland. Our stay in Norway was an interesting cultural experience.

- 1. We arrived in Asilah mid-morning and were greeted by a parade of hosts
- 2. First we were escorted onto a bus where a Moroccan woman sat with a live chicken in a plastic bag, counting down the hours till Fatur
- 3. Then it was a trio of children that followed Kempie, our Pied Piper, along the narrow and vibrant streets, marching towards our abode.
- 4. Once settled, we set out to explore the Medina, an artistic maze much different than the one in Fes
- 5. Hugging the Atlantic coast, some of us snapped pictures while others bargained for earrings, or took in the intricately painted murals that adorned the walls
- 8. As the sun set, we made our way to the rocks where the sky put on a show
- 10. At first dark shades of blues and grays…
- 11. Then a wider assortment of hues…
- 12. That tossed themselves into a rainbow, our eyes reaching from below
- 13. Then as the sun settled peacefully into the sea, the call to prayer sounded…
- 14. And we made our way home
- 15. The next day after a slow seaside morning…
- 16. We set out on a horse-drawn carriage to Paradise’s shore
- 17. Five apiece, we galloped through the many faces of Asilah’s landscape
- 19. As the air grew thick with salt, we knew we had reached the coast
- 20. As soon as the horses’ legs began to buckle we were off and running towards the blue
- 21. Then, refreshed, relaxed and re-inspired we sat down with pen in hand to reflect
- 22. With traces of sand and breaths of sea salt air…
- 23. We are ready for our return.
