Students in a community service program are helping to restore a historic home in the old city of Fes, Morocco. They haul building materials through narrow streets, saw cedar beams, lay foundations and bricks, and build new walls. The restoration aims to preserve the architectural heritage of the old medina, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Students are gaining experience in traditional building techniques while contributing to the preservation of this important historic area.
