Ashlea Johnson is a 21-year-old junior at the University of South Dakota studying kinesiology and sports fitness. She was born in Yankton, South Dakota and is a student athlete on the track and field team, competing in jumping and sprinting events. Her professional goals are to become an athletic trainer or coach at the college level. In 10 years, she hopes to have a stable career in athletic training and be starting a family.

3. I was born in Yankton, South Dakota which is about 26 miles away from Vermillion so I didn’t take a very long journey to college.

4. I am the middle child in my family, I have a very old brother Mike (36), and a sister who is closer in age Rachael (18).

5. I also have my mom Karen and my dad Mike who are very supportive in my life.

13. Professional Goals I have many goals in life but for my professional goals the thing I want to pursue the most after graduating college would to become an athletic trainer on the college level. Otherwise I would like to coach a high school team in either Basketball or Track and Field.

15. In 10 years I would like to have a family or be on my way to starting one.

17. I hold 5 records at the Yankton High School, that is the most any track athlete has held there.

18. I only jumped 3 times in High School but when recruited for college they told me I would become a jumper.
