She has a background in education, earning degrees in psychopedagogy, education, and teaching methods for children with special needs. She is pursuing a major in music therapy at Berklee while exploring songwriting. Paola has extensive experience performing in choirs and as a lead singer for folk bands. She maintains an active performance schedule at Berklee and hopes to bridge her interests in music, education, and therapy.
On May 26, 2010, the junior high students of Derek Taylor Public School held their first Gala evening event for parents and community members. The event featured musical performances by students from the Grade 6-9 music class in an informal "Coffee House" style. Industrial arts and textiles projects completed by Grade 7-8-9 students were also on display. The school's music program excelled at recent music festivals, winning certificates and awards. The Grade 6-9 Orchestra, Junior High Band, and jazz band all performed at the Gala.
