- 1. HEY A.S! Amy: Hello Sophie: Hey Well girls, how are you feeling about taking on world domination? (Both laugh) S: We’re both really enthusiastic about it to be honest, being a girl band is hard enough but being an indie girl band is harder as there are not many out there. We’re on the right track and we’re enjoying the ride. We’ll work hard to get where we want and we will work harder to stay there. A: Wow Soph’ your really deep (both hysterical laughing) When did you first start singing girls? A: Well since I was around 9 years old I knew I wanted to sing. My mum always forced me to join dance clubs and drama clubs but it didn’t feel right. Then we did a version of high school musical and I was the lead, I loved every minute and since then I’ve been singing. S: I don’t really sing I just hum and make a few random noises (laughs) , but yeah, well I started playing guitar when I was really young as all my family play instruments. We could form are own marching band (both laughing). I know you play guitar Sophie but can you play any other instruments? S: Well yeah I can play all the guitars like base, acoustic and what not. But I can also play Nirvanas famous track ‘smells like teen spirit’ on the drums, I used to sit in my front room rocking out and my mum would run in screaming (laughing). I can also partly play piano, it’s harder than all the other instruments though as it’s very delicate and I’m used to be really tough with my instruments. A: I can play the flute (laughs). (Laughing) So, do you think fame has changed you in anyway? S: No definitely not, I can’t seem to get used to it. When I’m walking on stage and I can here the crowd screaming and the bright lights, I close my eyes and I can still see the local pub stage and mine and Amys parents sat watching us, its all surreal. A: Yeah I’m a b*tch! (Laughing hysterically) No it hasn’t. I’m still the same old Amy. I heard you girls nearly split. What happened?
- 2. S: We don’t usually talk about it but it’s just because of how much time we were spending together. As we went on tour and we were stuck with each other twenty four seven. It get’s annoying and it’s too much time to spend with someone. Anyone. We were rowing all the time but we had a massive row when we were on the way back to the tour bus once. We were screaming and throwing things at each other. There were fans crying all around us, it was horrible. A: Oh yeah the fans, it was them who spread the rumours of us breaking up, it was all over twitter in the matter of minutes, was the worst thing ever. Do you use twitter? A: All the time yeah. We follow most of them back so we can see what they’re up to. When we’ve got nothing to do we’re constantly tweeting and uploading pictures. We’re always retweeting and tweeting to our fans. We’re dedicated to them. They’re treasures. Without them we wouldn’t be where we are today. Oh you should follow us then (laughing) @I-NDIEUK2012, when does your album come out? S: It’s a surprise (laughing: A: arw she’s lying. It comes out 21st July. It’s kind of far away but we still haven’t fully finished it finally, we’re really picky and have to have it are way (both laughing) Are you excited for the reactions to your new album? A: Its scarier then everything to be honest. You don’t know how people are going to react, what they might say and whether they’ll even like it. We’re not the type of girls to sing about love we’d rather sing about other stuff but there are a few love songs threw on there for the soppy ones.
