Laurie Anderson born in 1947 is from
Chicago. Growing up she played the violin
and was in a symphony. It was not until
she got to college where she got a degree
in sculpture. She classifies herself as a
multi face artist. She likes to show off her
art by story telling and theatrical
performances. When showing her artwork
she likes to do it in alternative art settings,
which is very different then most artists.
She named this picture she drew after a
book that was based on a forty-nine day
period between death and rebirth. The
picture she drew is of her dog who died
after battling a long illness, according to
the book she read, counting the forty-nine
days after her dog passed away she would
be reborn on her birthday.

When responding to this drawing I
responded by taking a photograph of my
dog and relating it to the meaning of her
photo, I also liked the black and white
concept that she used when drawing her
picture. I took a photo of my dog who is
still alive was at a kill shelter and only
had so many days to live. For that
reason I like to think I gave her a second
life.

studied art through school in Mexico
City and Spain. From traveling he
likes to use urban landscape and
everyday objects. Gabriel like to
use his artwork to engage the
imagination of the viewer. He also
likes the use of complex geometry,
which is shown in parts of this
photo.

When taking this photo I wanted to
take a photo that represented the
art Gabriel Orozco likes to capture. I
wanted to use everyday objects
along with something that showed
complex geometry. For everyday
objects I used a glass door, and put
a hand on it. The hand has many
lines and crease marks in it which
represents complex geometry.
There is lines going in every
direction.

Liz Magor born in Canada has a
very unique form of art. She likes to
use realistic objects that are
personable. She also likes to tell a
story through social narratives. One
thing that she likes to show is how
humans have the desire to afford
nice things and how they enter our
lives then end up as junk.

In this photo I am responding to
Liz Magor’s style of art. I put
together items in my life that are
useful right not but will
eventually end up as junk. The
items I chose also shows that I
desire to have nice things. They
are all name brand items which
are not cheap. I think Liz
Magor’s style of art captures a
personal story through pictures.
