NASSCOM is a trade body and chamber of commerce for the IT-BPO industries in India, established in 1988 to represent over 1200 member companies. The NASSCOM Foundation was created in 2001 to allow the IT/BPO industry to make a significant positive impact on India's social landscape through programs like refurbishing donated hardware and technology training for communities. The Foundation encourages IT employees to volunteer their time and skills for social causes like teaching at local schools, raising health and environmental awareness, and more, either with or without corporate support, to become agents of change in their communities.
