Giuseppe Archimboldo was an Italian painter from 1527-1593 who was known for his imaginative portraits composed of arranged vegetables, fruits, flowers and plants. His unique style belonged to the Mannerist period and he created portraits for kings and emperors of his time. Some of his most famous works include "The Cook", "The Librarian", and his seasonal portraits of "Spring", "Summer", "Fall", and "Winter" which can be found in museums across Europe.
