This document discusses intelligence testing, academic achievement, and achievement tests. It defines academic achievement as everything a student learns from exposure to education, including knowledge, skills, habits, attitudes and internalization of values. An achievement test assesses how much knowledge someone has in a particular area or set of areas. Schools commonly use achievement tests to place students in appropriate grade levels and skill groups, and to evaluate teacher effectiveness.
