- #4 StorageConsole comes when any module is purchased. Adding modules is a simple license key upgrade. The additional information that is collected creates a much richer set of reports where data from the entire storage eco-system can be consolidated into a number of customizable reports that adds the maximum value to a specific customer.Different reports can be used by different areas of the business. CIO will be interested in looking at high level compliance reportsFinance are interested in Chargeback reports so that they are able to assign costs to different departmentsPurchasing are interested in the Capacity Forecast reports showing when procurement cycles will be needed.Support want to get an overall view of errors over time so they can group errors that are related rather than inefficiently dealing with errors as and when they come up.IT Management want to know how they can drive storage efficiency, problem resoluition and reduced work-load
- #6 Loading additional software on servers creates problems with extended test and deployment times, upgrade compatibility and processor overhead.By combining modules increases the value as the user gets to cross-reference data from different places to make it more useful. For example, collecting information from the Storage, Servers and SAN Fabric shows a complete end-to-end profile of any storage volume, how is sharing it, what speed of infrastructure is it using, is it truly in HA mode, are the applications seeing all of the storage that you believe is allocated to it.Reporting can run from any browser in the native web format. This means that no additional plug-ins are required.
