 1977 : First plant commissioned in Kerala
 1991 : second plant commissioned in Baroda.
 1995 : Acquired premier tyres ltd.
 2004 : launch of apollo Acelere- ‘H’ speed rated car

 2005 : perembra plant completes 30 years
 2006 : Dunlop south africa is acquired.

RECENT STEPS TO EXPANSION
 Apollo Tyres claims to be india’s biggest tyre maker.
 Company recently signed a techinical corperation deal
with AG.
 Apollo tyres is the 1st company to gain support from
international finance corporation .
 Groupe michelin and indias apollo tyres limited agree to
setup joint venture for radial truck tyres in india.
 Michelin and Apollo will invest $17million for a period of
four years.
 Site is undisclosed to build a truck tyre planned .

ACQUISITION
 In 2006 the company Dunlop Tyres international of
South Africa was acquired by Apollo Tyres LTD.
 The Netherland based Vredestein Banden BV
(VBBV) was acquired by Aplollo Tyres for an
undisclosed some from Russians largest tyres
manufactureral Amtel- Vredestein. (Amtel-
Vredestein was declared bankrupt on 29th April

 Apollo tyres recorded net profit of 94.7cr from its
indian operations .
 Apollo group chairman Onkar s Kanwar said revival
in indian econmy has resulted in 5% growth or
higher production in india.
 Apollo tyre registered a turn over of rs 42.9 billion
for the year 2006-07
