The Enigma Code: We used this code within
our video as we provided the audience with
snippets of narrative that did not fully explain
details of the story. For example; making it
unclear as to why the actors were arguing
and leaving the narrative on a cliff-hanger as
to how it ended.
4. The Symbolic Code: One clear symbol we
used throughout our video, was the presents
of a red rose that represented love and
passion. We also repeatedly showed a
teddy bear, that symbolised the innocents of
our actress but also hope and love. This was
shown being thrown at the end of the
video, representing the breakdown of the
relationship.
5. The Semantic Code: This code featured in
our video as we suggested additional
meaning to our storyline with the final scene
of a lit candle. Although the video showed
our two actors breaking up, this candle
suggested the possibility of hope.
6. Action Code: A sequence of elements we
used to add suspense in our video, was
our use of video montage. We displayed
our artist ripping up various items from
their relationship, adding emphasis to her
upset and suggesting her outburst could
lead to a more serious end.
7. Tzvetan Todorov
Equilibrium: Was represented at the
beginning of our video where our actors
were happy and in love.
Dis-equilibrium: was shown when our actors
were having conflicts with each other and
fell out.
New Equilibrium: At the end of our video the
two actors are separated but are happier
this way. Peace restored.

We have consistently linked our lyrics and
narrative throughout the video. Illustrating
and amplifying the words, with the actions of
our actors.
We also had a key focus on star image
throughout the video with many close-ups
and the majority of shots being of her.
