- 2. Name:- Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam Born :- 15th October 1931 at Rameshwaram in Tamilnadu. Fathers Name :- Jainulabdeen Marakayar. Mothers Name:-Ashiamma. Has 3 siblings.
- 3. Early Life And Education:- A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born on 15th October 1931 on Pamban Island, an geographically isolated island. His life was full of struggles and hard work. Kalam’s father has boats which he rented out to local fisherman & was a good friend of Hindu religious leaders and also the school teachers at Rameshwaram. His mother was a housewife .To support his studies and the house he started his career as a Newspaper Vendor . He went to Schwartz Higher secondary school, in his school years Kalam has average marks but was described as a bright and hardworking student who had a strong desire to learn. After completing his school education , Kalam went to Saint Joseph’s College , Tiruchirapalli , then went to University Of Madras from where he graduated in physics in the year 1954. Then in 1955 he studied Aerospace Engineering form Madras.
- 4. *He Helped in the development of India’s first satellite Launch vehicle SLV-3,in 1980.Which helped India to become the member of Space Club by injecting a satellite named ‘Rohini’ in Earths nearest orbit. *In 1982, as being the Director of DRDO( Defence Research And Development Organization), Kalam was assigned with the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP), India’s most successful military research task till date. *He played an important role as an organizational, Technical & Political in India’s Pokhran-ll Nuclear test in 1998. *He served as a principal scientific adviser to defence Minister and Later Govt. of India. * Became the 11th President of India
