Holographic interfaces are a great way to interact with the physical world in ways that users understand. We often are restricted to dealing with our digital universe with flat 2-dimensional screens or VR interfaces.
In this session I am going to talk about how we can create an interactive holographic display which is perfect to be used in an interactive commerce context allowing users to experience new ways to checkout and interact with the digital space.
Using Braintree we can also create a payment vault in the Holographic space to allow a much faster and seamless checkout experience for the user.

Real Time Everything
The document discusses the transition from batch processing of data to real-time processing, where data is streamed and processed immediately. Few countries have fully adopted real-time systems so far but adoption is growing. Even today, many payments are not processed in real-time. The document outlines how to integrate real-time capabilities with existing legacy systems using microservices and cloud native technologies like Kubernetes, APIs, and message queues. Key aspects discussed include authorization of API clients, defining the scope of access tokens, and establishing access policies to govern token requests. Moving to real-time systems can improve response time and opportunities despite implementation challenges.

A payment gateway allows online merchants to accept electronic payments by connecting to payment processors. It encrypts sensitive payment information and bridges transactions between customers, merchants and payment processors. There are two main types of payment processing: on-site where customers enter payment details on the merchant site, and off-site where customers are redirected to the payment processor's site first before being redirected back. The document provides examples of integrating a merchant site with the 2Checkout payment gateway using PHP by passing required payment information between files to validate and process transactions.
The document discusses WooCommerce, PayPal, and the Internet of Things. It presents on accepting payments simply with PayPal and how the Internet of Things is creating opportunities for online ordering and e-commerce through devices like smart toasters, tables, and shirts. The presentation demonstrates integrating an Arduino Yun and thermal printer with WooCommerce through the WooCommerce API and technologies like OpenResty and Python.
PayPal and the Internet of Things provides opportunities for e-commerce. Millions use PayPal for its simplicity in accepting payments. The Internet of Things is growing with smart devices like refrigerators and shirts. This allows for new commerce opportunities like online ordering direct from devices. The presentation demonstrates using Arduino, Python and the WooCommerce API with an IoT thermal printer for a prototype smart shopping cart that orders directly through a store.

This document discusses two models for controlling Internet of Things (IoT) devices: the Controller Model which uses a centralized controller unit, and the HiveBot Model which takes a decentralized approach by allowing each device to process information independently without relying on a central controller. Specifically, the HiveBot Model proposes using Arduino boards equipped with ATmega chips to handle local processing while still enabling connectivity through an onboard WiFi bridge. This decentralized approach aims to remove single points of failure and allow devices to operate independently even when disconnected from each other.

5th Power Grid Model Meet-up
It is with great pleasure that we extend to you an invitation to the 5th Power Grid Model Meet-up, scheduled for 6th June 2024. This event will adopt a hybrid format, allowing participants to join us either through an online Mircosoft Teams session or in person at TU/e located at Den Dolech 2, Eindhoven, Netherlands. The meet-up will be hosted by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), a research university specializing in engineering science & technology.
Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
-Insightful presentations covering two practical applications of the Power Grid Model.
-An update on the latest advancements in Power Grid -Model technology during the first and second quarters of 2024.
-An interactive brainstorming session to discuss and propose new feature requests.
-An opportunity to connect with fellow Power Grid Model enthusiasts and users.
