2. Biography
• Antonio Lopez was a fashion illustrator, born in Utuado , Puerto Rico
on February 11th, 1943.
• His mother was a dressmaker, his father sculpted mannequins.
• He was awarded a scholarship to the Traphagen School of Fashion, at
the age of twelve
• Internship at Women’s Wear Daily.
8. WORK
• He ‘invented’ the new model: not the perfect pretty girl, but the girl
with attitude, sex and a portion of craziness, later called Antonio’s
Girls . “Healthy wasn’t his thing. He wanted exotic, weird, a little
insane.”
