This document summarizes a study on contraceptive use among adolescent girls in Finland. The study found that the vaginal ring and transdermal patch were uncommon contraceptives, used by only 0.9% and 0.1% of girls respectively. In contrast, oral contraceptives were commonly used by 20% of girls. Emergency contraception had been used by 15% of girls. The findings suggest that novel contraceptive methods like the vaginal ring and patch have not been widely adopted among family planning services for adolescents in Finland despite being potentially easier options than pills.
