2. 1. Aim
(a) To maintain ‘Ragging Free Campus’ status of the University.
(b) Stringent anti-ragging measures.
(c) Strict punishment to defaulters.

3. 2. Terms of Reference
(a) Supreme Court Orders.
(b) UP Govt. orders for Prohibition of Ragging in Educational
Institutions Act, 2010.
(c) UGC Regulations, 2009.
(d) AUUP Regulations on Ragging.

4. 3.What is Ragging ?
a) Any conduct by words or act which had the effect of teasing,
treating or handling with rudeness any fresher/ student.
b) Indulging in rowdy/ indiscipline activity likely to cause annoyance,
hardship, physical or physiological harm or fear or apprehension in any
fresher or student.
c) Asking any student to do any act which has the effect of causing or
generating a sense of shame, torment or embarrassment so as to
adversely affect the physique or psyche of any student.
b) Exploiting the services for completing the academic tasks assigned to
an individual or a group of students.
c) Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on
any other student by student(s).

5. d) Any act of sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing
obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other
danger to health or person of any student.
e) Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults
including deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from
activity or passively participating in the discomfiture of any student.
f) Any act that affects the mental health and self confidence of student
with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off
power, authority or superiority by a student over any student.

6. 4. Ragging is Strictly Prohibited:-
a) Within the University Campus including its Institutions/
Departments/ Hostels or/ and any part of Amity University system as
well as on public transport system outside the campus.
b) Prohibited in private lodges/ buildings where students are staying.
c) No person including students/ staff/ faculty shall participate or abet
or propagate ragging in any form.

7. 5. Punishable Ingredients of Ragging
a)Abetment/ criminal conspiracy to rag.
b)Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging.
c) Public nuisance created during ragging.
d)Violation of decency through ragging.
e) Injury to body, causing hurt or grievous hurt.
f) Wrongful restraint, confinement, use of criminal force.
g)Assault as well as sexual / unnatural offences.
h)Extortion, criminal trespass, intimidation, humiliation.
i) Offence against property.
j) Physical or psychological humiliation.
k) Attempts to commit any or all of the above mentioned offences
against the victim(s).
l) Threat to commit any or all of the above mentioned offences
against the victim(s).
m) All other offences following from the definition of “Ragging”.

8. 6. Punishments
a) Cancellation of admission.
b) Suspension from attending classes, expulsion from hostel.
c) Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and result.
d) Debarring from test/ examination or other evaluation process.
e) Debarring from representing the institution in any regional,
national or international meet, tournament, youth festival etc.
f) Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4
semesters.
g) Expulsion from the institution and debarring from admission to any
other institution.
h) Collective punishments when the persons committing /abetting
ragging are not identified.

9. i) Whoever directly or indirectly commits, participates, abets or
propagates ragging shall be punished with imprisonment of up to two
years or with fine which may extend to Rs. 10,000/- or with both.
j) No admission to any educational institution for five years.
k) Non-students involved in reports of ragging will be proceeded
with under the criminal law of India.
l) Ex-students involved in ragging and against whom necessary
action is taken will be ineligible for a period of five years from
seeking enrolment in any of the Institutions of the University.
m) Any student who has obtained degree or diploma of the University
is found guilty, action will be taken under the provisions of the
Statutes and Regulations relating to Conduct of Examinations.

stamp paper, duly notarized (Offer Letter/ AMIZONE)
(b) No admission unless the affidavits are submitted.
(c) In addition, hostel allottee & parents to submit an undertaking
along with 3 copies of photographs & details of parents / guardians/
LG.
(d) No hostel allotment w/o these documents/ photos.
