Q)How does
your product
use or
challenge
conventions &
how does it
represent social
groups or
issues?
Though basically my opening is
related to horror. I have used many
conventions that I will mention. Horror
is the genre of fiction which is intended
to, or has the capacity to frighten,
scare or disgust.
Location: spooky graveyard, haunted
house ,the gas station ,dark and silent
street, forest.
Props: bare hands, teeth ,fire/
explosive ,Machete, Hooks,
supernatural powers
HORROR
The main protagonist is often the
victim, of the movie. The villain is often
a monster, serious killer, creepy
children, The stupid moral teenagers
that always get killed. Regarding the
editing, A quick succession of fast
paced short clips will disoriented an
audience. Low key lighting is used for
horror due it creates effects it creates.
It create tension, due to it mysterious
and dark atmosphere and controlling
how much of the character are
revealed and surrounding.
HORROR
In general the camera shots are used were
hand held camera shot, low angles shot and
closeup shot. Sounds are used of creepy
Foots, opening of the door, etc.
Basically during the film I have used the low key
lighting to create a dark and scary effect .I have
used mid medium shots to know the detail about
the character and closeup shots to show what
the character is holding. Also I have used match
on action to show the clear footsteps of
character. Moreover, The location I have
selected is the street and the time I have chosen
is the bit late as it is the horror films so there is a
need of a house too.
HORROR
In my opening scene, it has certain social issues that are highlighted
and I am going to talk about anxiety, gender .Anxiety can be shown
as it is the scary film. And the character doesn’t know what will
happen in the end and what type of thing she will find in the street as
it is a suspense and mystery.
Now the second issue is about the gender. Thus can be represented
that teenagers became too scared .This can be represented when
she will look towards the doll in the room at the object or near to
hear.
Sometimes they are not given much importance in today's times.
Females are not shown as a victim but in my opening she has
been shown innocent and pure character. This can also be proven
through the white clothes as it shows that she is not indulging in
wrong things.
