for it.
 Completed a trainingcoursein Remote Sensing and Geospatial Technologies for Land Cover and Land-Use Change Studies and
Applications.
 Water sampling for surface and ground water sources accordingto standard procedures.
 Handling and operating various instruments for physico- chemical analysis for water quality determination such as Gas and
Ion Chromatograph (IC), Spectrophotometer, and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer.
 Worked closely on a project related to saline water intrusion in the Muthupaet mangroves, Tamil Nadu

 Gained extensive understanding of operations of a landfill for hazardous waste during the industrial visit to (KEIL) Kerala
Enviro infrastructure Ltd. Which receives wastes from Cochin refinery, FACT petrochemical division and various other major
industry.
 Worked closely with Kerala Pollution ControlBoard and FACT, Petrochemical and Fertilizer division to gauge the industrial
impacts on water quality in the surroundingareas.
 Interned at Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. Travancore (FACT) Petrochemical and Fertilizer division,Udyogamandalam- a
Government OF Kerala enterpriseas a partof post graduate project for a month.
 Studied the working of the effluent treatment plant for Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore
Ltd. for Petrochemical and Fertilizers division which included pH neutralization,regulation of ammonia dispersed (free and
total), biological treatment, biosludge,thickeners, waste disposal ,problems associated with sludgetreatment, stages of
clarifier and clarifocculator and finally howthe water is dispersed via guard ponds to inland drainagesystems.
 The chemical processes involved in the manufacturing of Caprolactum, Ammonium Phosphate-Sulphate (FACTAMFOS),
Ammonium Sulphate, Zincated Ammonium Phosphate, Caprolactum, Sulphuric Acid, Ammonia, Urea and other complex
fertilizers were keenly observed and each step involved startingwith the procurement of rawmaterial , catalysts,by- products
and the stages leadingto end products were understood.
 The contact process involved in the manufacture of sulphuric acid for various processes in FACTwas also witnessed and
understood thoroughly.
 Workingof industrial level conveyors,ammonia scrubbers,venturimeters, bag house filters and other air pollution control
equipment were also introduced in the training.
 The various safety procedures adopted in a chemical industry was briefed, practised and trained on how to implement iton
siteand various steps thatneeds to be taken in caseof emergencies or accidents.

 Won first prize for paper presentation at the National Technical event held at Manipal Instituteof Technology
 Won first prize in water quiz organized by Department of Civil Engineeringand Water Institute, Karunya University
 Won second place for poster making competition held by Karunya University on Environmental Conference.
