The blob fish inhabits waters off the coast of Australia and Tasmania at depths where the water pressure is dozens of times higher than sea level. It has a gelatinous body that is less dense than water, giving it a jelly-like appearance. However, if brought to the surface, the blob fish loses its shape and becomes a pile of goo due to the change in pressure. The blob fish is becoming endangered due to overfishing through bycatch and its unusual appearance and lazy nature.

The domestic dog is a member of genus Canis that forms part of the wolf-like canids, and is the most widely abundant carnivore. The dog and the extant gray wolf are sister taxa, with modern wolves not closely related to the wolves that were first domesticated, which implies that the direct ancestor of the dog is extinct.

unknown why.

density slightly less than that of water. Hence the jelly
appearance.

like appearance. If taken out of water it looses that appearance
and becomes a pile of goo.
