Netherlands vs Austria Netherlands Face Familiar Foes in Euro Cup Germany Gro...Eticketing.co
The Netherlands are in Group D in Euro Cup Germany - and, unpaid to this, they will be coming up against familiar foes. Remarkably, they have played France, who have fashioned some of the greatest players of all time, 30 times throughout history. Despite France being more effective in major competitions, including captivating the World Cup in 2018, Holland have the greater head-to-head record.

However, in 2023, they played one another twice, with France endearing both matches 4-0 and 2-1 individually. Against Poland and Austria, the Netherlands also have a stout record, winning just under half the matches. They faced Austria at Euro 2020, engaging 2-0, and they haven't lost to Poland since 1979.
The lettering is on the wall for Holland to qualify for the knockouts, but nothing is failsafe. The Netherlands kickstart their Euros campaign against Poland on Sunday, June 16th. In Hamburg, they will have to go up against one of the best strikers in the world, Robert Lewandowski.
Netherlands vs Austria: Tough Challenges Await the Netherlands in Euro Cup Germany
Five days later, they travel south to face France in Leipzig, a side led by Kylian Mbappe - one of the finest players in the world currently and one of the most impressive players in his nation's history. To conclude, they face Austria in Berlin, knowing it could be the end of the road if they don't perform.
Ronald Koeman is widely considered one of the more successful Dutch managers in Premier League history, considering the nation has a reputation for struggling to replicate their talents in England. The former Everton manager went against that script and shone — and now he is back managing his nation.

Netherlands vs Austria: Ronald Koeman's Tactical Approach For UEFA Euro 2024
As well as being the highest-scoring defender in history, Koeman is a man with immense tactical knowledge. He returned to manage Holland at the start of 2023 after it was announced Louis van Gaal would retire. His life back in the dugout with the team wasn't easy, as he lost his first match 4-0 to France after going 3-0 down within 21 minutes.
However, he eventually helped them qualify for Euro Cup Germany. The 61-year-old likes to organize his team with a defensive mindset. Some might call it pragmatic as he defends with minimal space between the lines, but that's often needed for international football.

Belgium vs Romania Injuries and Patience in Belgium’s Euro Cup Germany Squad....Eticketing.co
Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco will wait for several key players to recover from injury. Even if it means they miss the opening Euro Cup Germany stages of the European Championship in Germany this month. Veteran defender Jan Vertonghen, midfielder Youri Tielemans and defender Arthur. Theate are being given time to play in the tournament because they are considered vital to Belgium’s cause, Tedesco said on Tuesday.

"Of course, you prefer to take players who are fully fit, but that's okay. We want to wait and be patient for some players even if they cannot play in those first matches," he told a press conference. The 37-year-old Vertonghen, Belgium’s Euro Cup 2024 most-capped international with 154 appearances, is struggling to shake off a groin injury.
"He will be there normally. This also applies to Youri Tielemans and Arthur Theate. The latter's position is very sensitive. We don't have many choices at left back. "It will only change if it turns out that they will only be available when, say, the final of the Euro 2024 Championship comes around. That's too long to wait. "However, I am confident that the injured boys are on track for the Euros.
Belgium vs Romania: Radu Dragusin Prepares for Crucial Role in Euro Cup Germany
Some of them have taken not one but two steps forward in their rehabilitation," he said. None of the injured players will feature in this week’s warm-up friendlies against Montenegro and Luxembourg. Romania centre-back Radu Dragusin found chances limited at Tottenham Hotspur in the second half of the 2023-24 season.
But is crucial to his country's cause at UEFA Euro 2024 where his aerial ability, physicality and hard graft make him a standout player. The 22-year-old moved to North London from Italian side Genoa in January but was kept on the sidelines by the form of another new arrival for the season, Mickey van de Ven, something Romania coach Edward Iordanescu admitted was a concern.
It will mean limited game-time going into the finals, but Dragusin, who cites Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk as a role model, started every Euro Cup Germany qualifier as Romania went through the campaign unbeaten in their 10 games. He will be among their most important players in their first game in Germany against Ukraine in Munich on June 17, taking the right centre-back role in what is likely to be a back four.

Psaroudakis: Family and Football – The Psaroudakis Success StoryPsaroudakis
Psaroudakis, a name that resonates with football fans around the globe, is a testament to the powerful synergy between familial support and individual passion. Born on March 10, 1992, in the historic city of Heraklion, Crete, Psaroudakis’ journey to international football stardom is a compelling narrative of dedication, perseverance, and unwavering family support. His story not only highlights his athletic prowess but also underscores the crucial role his family played in shaping his career and character.
Psaroudakis’ early life in Heraklion was deeply influenced by a supportive and nurturing family environment. His father, a former semi-professional footballer, recognized Psaroudakis’ potential from an early age. Acting as his first coach, his father’s guidance was instrumental in igniting Psaroudakis’ passion for football. This paternal influence instilled in him a strong work ethic and fundamental skills that would become the foundation of his future success. His mother, a dedicated homemaker, provided a stable and nurturing environment, ensuring that Psaroudakis could pursue his dreams without any hindrances.
From a young age, Psaroudakis showed an innate talent for football. Growing up in Heraklion, he spent countless hours playing football in local parks and streets with friends and family. His natural ability was evident even in these informal settings, and his enthusiasm for the game was infectious. By the age of five, Psaroudakis had joined a local youth football club, where his skills began to flourish. His father’s role as his first coach during these formative years was crucial, as he emphasized not only technical skills but also the importance of discipline and teamwork.
The transition from playing in local parks to joining a structured football environment marked a significant step in Psaroudakis’ journey. At the age of ten, he joined the youth academy of OFI Crete, one of Greece’s most esteemed football clubs. This move marked the beginning of a more rigorous and professional approach to his training. The academy environment was demanding, focusing on honing technical abilities and instilling values of sportsmanship and dedication. Psaroudakis’ dedication to his craft was evident as he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a standout player in the youth teams.
The support of Psaroudakis’ family was unwavering during this critical period. His father continued to be a source of guidance and mentorship, while his mother ensured that he had everything he needed to succeed. Their collective efforts created a balanced environment where Psaroudakis could focus entirely on his development as a footballer. This familial support was not just about providing the basics; it was about creating an environment where Psaroudakis felt encouraged and motivated to pursue his dreams relentlessly.
As Psaroudakis transitioned from the youth academy to professional football, the challenges became more significant.

ARLINGTON, Texas – No. 5-ranked Colorado State-Pueblo saw its early lead dwindle down to
seven points before turning it on again to beat Angelo State 45-24 on Saturday in the finale of the
Lone Star Football Festival at AT&T Stadium.
CSU-Pueblo (2-0) built up a 21-0 lead with 4:16 to play before halftime. Angelo State (1-1) got its
momentum going on a 22-yard field goal by Reid Layton with 7 seconds left before the break.
The Rams came out of the locker room and quickly got on the board again as quarterback
Kyle Washington exploded for a 78-yard touchdown run. Washington then found Brett Rasberry
for a 16-yard scoring strike to cut the Thunderwolves’ lead down to 21-17 with 10:38 to play in the
third quarter.
After forcing CSU-Pueblo to punt on the following possession, Angelo State had its possible
game-tying drive halted and was forced to punt as well. Josh Sandovall took Sam Fowler’s boom
back 55 yards for a touchdown to give the Thunderwolves a 28-17 advantage with 8:43 left in the
third quarter.
CSU-Pueblo went on to get a 20-yard field goal from Greg O’Donnell, a 40-yard fumble return
for a score by C.J. Roberts and a 12-yard TD run from Cameron McDondle.
Angelo State’s final TD came with 7:05 to play on a 100-yard interception return by junior
linebacker Rush Seaver. The play tied a LSC record and has now been done only 12 times in the
league’s 82-year history.
Quarterback Chris Bonner and receiver Paul Browning helped set the tone for CSU-Pueblo
– which finished with 617 yards of offense – by connecting on a 64-yard TD pass on the game’s
first play from scrimmage.
Bonner finished 14 of 26 for 354 yards and two TDs, while Browning had 148 yards on two
catches. McDondle totaled 160 yards on 13 carries and Chris Ashe added 84 yards and a TD on
10 totes. Ben Estica made 13 tackles and picked off a pass to pace the Thunderwolves’ defense
that forced three fumbles.
Washington went 20 of 34 passing for 173 yards and totaled 139 yards on nine carries –
recording one TD each way for the Rams. Talon Smith made a game-high six catches for 64
yards. Ryan Clapsaddle had a game-high 14 tackles. Paul Mason racked up 81 kick return yards.
CSU-Pueblo returns home next week to face Western New Mexico in its Rocky Mountain

ANGELO STATE 41
LEGRAND STADIUM AT 1ST COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION FIELD // SAN ANGELO, TEXAS
SEPT. 27, 2014 // ATTENDANCE: 5,946
SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State football team took a 35-21 lead into halftime on LSC rival West
Texas A&M but were unable to sustain the momentum in the second half falling 58-41 at LeGrand
Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field on Saturday night.
The Rams (2-1, 1-1 LSC) and Buffs (2-2, 1-1 LSC) combined for 1,113 yards of total offense
including 827 in the air. ASU built a 35-21 lead on WT with an explosive first half before the Buffs
rallied in the second half.
ASU struck first after the Ram defense forced a three and out. Ryan Byrd was the focus of the
drive touching the ball on four of the seven plays. The junior transfer scampered for 24 yards to
take it deep into WT territory. Four plays later he carried it three yards in for a touchdown to make
it 7-0 ASU.
The Ram defense limited WT’s offense to just three plays on the next drive. ASU capitalized
with a touchdown. Kyle Washington found Byrd on a screen on the ninth play of the drive for a
19-yard touchdown to put ASU up 14-0. The two team’s offenses would find rhythm as seven-straight
touchdowns would be scored.
West Texas A&M started working the deep pass as Preston Rabb hit Donald Dimitri on a
27-yard pass and Jeremy Watson for a 44-yard pass to put the Buffs deep in ASU territory. Rabb
would keep it for a 1-yard run to cut the lead to 14-7 to start the second quarter.
Angelo State responded with a 10 play 75-yard drive to make it 21-7 ASU in the first quarter.
Washington hit Brett Raspberry for two completions before Byrd scored his third touchdown of
the half on a 30-yard run.
West Texas took the ball down the field 75 yards as Geremy Alridge-Mitchell would score on a
1-yard run to make it 21-14.
Washington again led the Rams down the field finding Dakarai Pecikonis on a 25-yard strike
before hitting Chris Omigie for a 13-yard touchdown for a 28-14 lead.
WT wasted little time responded on the next drive. Rabb hit Jordan Jones for a 27-yard
touchdown to make it 28-21 with just 30 seconds left until the half.
Anthony Yancy electrified the crowd before halftime as he took the ensuing kickoff back
100-yards for a touchdown and a 35-21 lead going into the break. Yancy finished the game with
195 returning yards breaking Garrett Tidewell’s single-game record of 182 set against Texas State
in 2009.
The Buffs came out of the second half and drove the ball down 57 yards in nine plays. Rabb
would find Watson twice on the drive for 10-yard and 22-yard completions. WT would take the
ball to the ASU 12 before the Rams defense forced a 29-yard field goal by Connor Hallabaugh.
The Rams were forced into a three and out and WT took back over. Rabb found Watson on
the second play of the drive for a 56-yard touchdown to cut the Angelo State lead to 35-31 at the
10:29 mark of the third quarter.
Washington got ASU going on the next drive. The junior quarterback hit Pecikonis on a 27-
yard pass and followed it up with a 42-yard pass to Talon Smith to take the ball to the 2-yard line.
Blake Smith scored on a 2-yard run to put ASU up 41-31.
It took the Buffs just four plays to answer. Rabb found Watson on back-to-back passes of 42
and 30 to put the ball at the ASU three. Gabe Tuata scored his first touchdown of the game to cut
the ASU lead to 41-38.
The Rams were forced to punt after the ensuing drive stalled at the WT 37-yard line. Sam
Fowler’s punt was blocked by Alex Tucci and returned 48-yards by LaPear Willrich to give WT its
first lead of the game at 45-41.
Washington would throw his second interception of the game on the next drive after the ball
was hit as the Humble native was throwing. The Rams defense held the Buffs to a 23-yard field
goal by Hollabaugh to extend WT’s lead to 55-41.
ASU turned the ball over on downs at the ASU 28 and Hollabuagh hit his third field goal of the
game. The 33-yard field goal would make the final score 58-41.

ANGELO STATE 45
No. 16 MIDWESTERN STATE 31
MEMORIAL STADIUM // WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS
OCT. 4, 2014 // ATTENDANCE: 7,502
WICHITA FALLS – Angelo State quarterback Kyle Washington ran for a career-high 250 yards
and threw three touchdowns to help lead the Rams to a 45-31 Lone Star Conference win over No.
16-ranked Midwestern State on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
The Rams (3-1, 2-1 LSC) forced four MSU (3-1, 2-1 LSC) turnovers in the game with Paul
Mason recording an interception and forcing and recovering a fumble as ASU earned its first win
over a ranked opponent since 2012 and its first win in Wichita Falls since the 1999 season. ASU
finished the game with 531 yards of offense and won the turnover battle 4-0 over the Mustangs in
its first road game of the season.
Washington’s career rushing night came on 24 carries for an average of 10.4 yards per carry
and he also found Talon Smith, Dakarai Pecikonis and Chris Omigie for touchdown passes.
Washington, who had a previous career-high with 185 rushing yards last season against the
Mustangs, completed 16 of 28 pass attempts for 169 yards passing in the game and helped
spearhead a second half where the Rams outscored the Mustangs 31-14 after ASU went into
halftime trailing 17-14. Byrd ran for 81 yards on his 10 carries, while Smith had 33 yards on the
night for the Rams who rushed for 362 yards on the night for an average of 8.0 yards per carry.
Washington finished the night with 419 total yards and four touchdowns.
Rush Seaver led the Angelo State defense with 14 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, and Blair
Smith also recorded a double-digit tackle performance with 10. Ryan Clapsaddle added eight
tackles and had an interception, while London Dial had seven tackles and forced a fumble.
Mason had three tackles to go along with his interception and fumble recovery for the defense
which recorded five sacks with Matthew Gholston sacking the MSU quarterback Jake Glover
twice and Richard Franklin, Clayton Callicutt and John Siliga each recording one sack. Jarred
Ross accounted for another takeaway when he recorved the Dial forced fumble.
ASU grabbed the lead which it wouldn’t relinquish on a 39-yard touchdown reception by
Smith from Washington to give the Rams a 28-24 lead with 49 seconds remaining in the third
quarter. The touchdown grab capped a seven-play, 73-yard drive which took only 2:52 off the
clock in a third quarter which saw three lead changes and was ended with a Mason interception.
The fourth takeaway from the ASU offense quickly led to more Ram points as Washington found
Pecikonis for a 6-yard touchdown pass to give the Rams a 35-24 lead.
Jake Glover ended an eight-play drive for the Mustangs with a 14-yard touchdown run to
respond to the Pecikonis touchdown with 11 minutes to play in the game to cut the score to
35-31 before a 19-yard field goal by Peter Marquez gave the Rams a seven-point lead. The field
goal was set up by a 54-yard run by Washington to the 7-yard line, but the Rams had to settle for
the field goal after two runs got the ball to the 2 before a third-down pass into the end zone fell
incomplete.
ASU added to its lead with a 7-yard touchdown run by Byrd to cap an eight-play, 79-yard drive
in which Byrd ran for 56 yards on four carries.
The Rams took a 21-14 lead early in the second half when Washington found Omigie on a
12-yard touchdown pass which was set up by a defensive play by Mason who stripped a MSU
ball carrier to give the ASU offense the ball. The acrobatic touchdown reception by Omigie
capped a seven-play, 49-yard drive which included a fourth down conversion by the Rams when
Washington found a hole along the left side of the offensive line to get a first down on a 4th-and-
1. MSU reclaimed its lead at 24-21 with a 13-yard run by Dante Taylor run to cap a 10-play,
75-yard drive.
Midwestern State claimed a 10-7 lead with an Andy Alkhazshvilly 45-yard field goal and
extended its lead when Glover and Straton hooked up again for a 37-yard touchdown four
minutes into the second quarter.
ASU stopped the 17-0 run with a 4-yard touchdown run by Smith with 5:32 to play in the first
half to finish off a seven-play, 48-yard drive which was set up by a Clapsaddle interception of
Glover. The scoring drive was highlighted by a 17-yard run by Smith to the 11-yard line where he
leaped a defender to gain about five more yards.

SAN ANGELO – A 32-yard field goal just missed to the right as time expired as the Angelo State
football team lost 41-40 to Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday night in a Lone Star Conference
thriller at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
Texas A&M-Commerce (4-1, 4-0 LSC) scored on a 10-yard run Richard Cooper to take its
second lead of the game with 2:04 to go in the fourth quarter. The Rams drove down to the
Lions 30-yard line and faced a fourth and four. ASU decided on a 47-yard field goal from Peter
Marquez. The kick was wide left but TAMUC was called for defensive offsides to keep the drive
alive. Marquez got another chance seconds later but the kick went wide right.
Ryan Byrd led the Rams on the ground with a career-high 120 yards on 16 carries and one
touchdown. The junior also caught six balls for 80 yards and a score. Kyle Washington threw for
286 yards on 28-of-47 passing and tossed three scores. He carried the ball 22 times for 78 yards
and one touchdown.
Rush Seaver led a Rams defense that forced three interceptions and one fumble recovery with
15 tackles. Richard Franklin, Fred Lawerence and Jarred Ross each picked off TAMUC’s Tyrik
Rollison. Ryan Clapsaddle finished with nine tackles while Blair Smith and Clayton Clallicutt each
were credited with a sack.
The Rams built a 30-17 lead at halftime but the Lions came out of the half and scored on their
opening drive to cut the lead to 30-24. The Rams were forced to punt on their next drive but three
plays later Lawrence intercepted Rollison at the Texas A&M-Commerce 31-yard line.
Six plays later, Marquez kicked a 30-yard field goal to extend ASU’s lead 33-24 in the third
quarter. The Lions continued their comeback cutting the lead to 33-31 after Deric Davis threw one
of two touchdown passes on the night to Vernon Johnson. Johnson finished the game with nine
catches for 113 yards and three touchdowns.
ASU forced a punt on Texas A&M-Commerce’s next drive and took over at its own 38-yard
line. Washington hit Byrd on a 52-yard screen pass to put the Rams at the TAMUC 4-lyard line.
Washington took it in from there to make the score 40-31.
The Lions responded with a six play 90-yard drive as Cooper scored to again make it a
two-point game at 40-38. The Rams offense was forced into a three and out and Texas A&M-Commerce
took the lead on the next drive of the game.
Dakarai Pecikonis, who caught three balls for 40-yards, tied the game up in the first quarter on
a 9-yard pass from Washington to tie the game. Texas A&M-Commerce scored the game’s first
touchdown on a 4-yard pass from Devric to Johnson.
The very next drive the Rams defense recorded a safety. Matthew Gholston tackled Cooper
after a fumble to the goal line for ASU’s first lead at 9-7.
The Rams were forced to punt on its next offensive drive but a muffed catch by TAMUC’s
Shawn Hooks was picked up by Richard Franklin. Washington hit Anthony Yancy for a 13-yard
score to extend the advantage to 16-7.
Rollison hit Johnson for his second touchdown catch of the night to early in the second
quarter and two drives later Saul Martinez hit a 30-yard field goal to give Texas A&M-Commerce
its first lead in the second quarter.
Byrd scored his only rushing touchdown on the next Angelo State drive. The junior ran over a
Lion defender for a 10-yard score to retake the lead at 23-17.
Ross intercepted Rollison two drives later with 3:411 to go in the 2nd quarter. Washington
would find Byrd for a passing touchdown to capitalize on the turnover with just 27 seconds to go
in the half to make it 30-17 at the half.

SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State football team returned a fumble and a kickoff for touchdowns
to beat Eastern New Mexico 41-20 in Lone Star Conference action on Saturday night at LeGrand
Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
The Rams (5-2, 4-2 LSC) were limited to a season low 252 yards of offense but the defense
was able to force three turnovers and limited ENMU to only 110 yards in the second half. The
Greyhounds (4-4, 2-4 LSC) rushed for 314 yards of the teams 362 total yards.
Rush Seaver set a career-high with 23 tackles and led three other Rams double-digit stops.
Jarred Ross and Richard Franklin each made 11 tackles while Ryan Clapsaddle recorded 10
stops. Franklin and Paul Mason each intercepted ENMU’s Jeremy Buurma. Five different Rams
recorded at least a half a sack on the night. Kyle Washington threw for 174 yards on 18-of-26
passing while rushing for 29 yards on 11 carries. Ryan Byrd carried the ball 11 times for 43
carries.
After the Greyhounds opened the game with a 13 play 75-yard drive that was capped off by
a E’lon Spight 1-yard run to put ENMU on top, Anthony Yancy electrified the home crowd with
a 97-yard kickoff return to tie the game at seven. It is the senior’s second kickoff return for a
touchdown this season and of his career.
The Rams defense forced a punt and received good field position after only a 29-yard punt
at the ENMU 47-yard line. Washington threw two-straight passes to Yancy to put the ball at the
ENMU 10-yard line. Warren Truesdale carried it in for his first career rushing touchdown three
plays later to give ASU its first lead of the night at 14-7.
The Greyhounds moved the ball to the 50-yard line on the ensuing drive when Spight rushed
up the middle and was held up at the line. Blair Smith ripped the ball out and Hanson IV picked it
up off the bounce and rumbled for a 49-yard touchdown with 1:48 to go in the first quarter.
ENMU responded by driving down the field to the Rams 15-yard line and faced a fourth down.
Burrma would find Aaron Johnson for a 15-yard touchdown to cut ASU’s lead to 21-14.
Paul Mason picked off Burrma, his third of the season, a few drives later to give ASU the ball
at the ENMU 18-yard line. Washington scored his only rushing touchdown of the game from
6-yards out to make it 28-14 at the half.
ASU was limited to 52 yards of offense in the first half while ENMU racked up 252 yards.
The Rams came out of halftime and went for it on fourth and one at the ENMU 44 but
Washington was stopped for no gain. The Greyhounds capitalized and scored on a 2-yard run by
Spoight but missed the extra point.
The Rams defense held strong after Peter Marquez kicked a 23-yard field goal for a 31-20
advantage. ASU would limit the Greyhounds to only 54 yards of offense over the next six drives
by forcing two punts, three turnovers on downs and one interception.
Marquez added a 21-yard field goal and Washington hit Smith for a 4-yard touchdown for the
final two scores of the night.

to Tarleton State (4-4, 4-3 LSC) and will now host Midwestern State at 7 p.m. next Saturday
at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field. ASU played tough throughout the
game and overcame three first-half turnovers by gaining 529 yards of offense and scoring a
high-pressure touchdown on a 4th-and-1 with Dakarai Pecikonis taking a pass from Washington
16 yards to cut the Rams’ deficit to 31-26 with 11:49 to play before Omigie and Washington
connected on the game-winner.
Down 17-3 at halftime, the Rams cut the deficit to 17-6 with a 40-yard field goal from Peter
Marquez but saw the Texans march down the field and score on a Zach Henshaw 1-yard
touchdown run with 7:08 remaining in the third quarter to take a 24-6 lead over the Rams. ASU
found its first real offensive stride on the next drive when Washington found Pecikonis for a 55-
yard touchdown pass to cut TSU’s lead to 24-13 with 6:10 to play.
The Rams cut the lead to single-digits six minutes later with running back Trey Green taking
a pass 16-yards for a touchdown to cap an eight-play 80-yard drive. Green’s touchdown was his
first of the season and came on the first play of the fourth quarter. With ASU surging, the Texans
responded quickly with Jabari Anderson breaking free for a 62-yard touchdown run. With Green’s
score cutting the lead to five, Anderson once again made it an 11-point game with Tarleton
leading 31-19 with 13:36 to play.
With the ball at their own 23, the Rams took the ball down the field on nine plays in only 1:47
with Washington finding Pecikonis for the 16-yard touchdown on a fourth down play. The drive,
which cut the deficit to 31-26, was highlighted by a 20-yard reception from Omigie and a 9-yard
run by Green to set up the play. ASU had the ball back down five with 8:23 remaining. A quick
tempo, score-fast offense then used 6:18 of clock and 15 plays and were unable to come away
with points. The promising drive included a 15-yard pass to Brett Rasberry for a first down on
a 3rd-and-13 and a 4-yard run by Green on a 3rd-and-3. ASU’s drive stalled and ended when
Washington threw an incompletion to Omigie in the corner of the end zone with 2:05 remaining in
the game.
With TSU leading by five, the game seemed to be in the home team’s control, but the ASU
defense held Henshaw to three yards on first down, put Anderson down for a 3-yard loss on
second down and then saw Zed Woerner throw an incompletion. A 23-yard punt by Blake Barnes
followed and ASU had the ball back at the TSU 33 with 1:08 remaining in the game.
Washington found Talon Smith for a 23-yard gain on first down to take the ball down to the 10,
Green took a handoff for six yards to the TSU 4-yard line and then Washington hit Omigie for the
4-yard game winner on the third play.
Angelo State finished the game with 529 yards of total offense and held the potent TSU
offense to 436 yards and 13 points below its season-average. ASU ran for 169 yards on 42
rushing attempts and had a 31-24 first down advantage over the Texans in the game. Washington
finished the game with 453 yards of total offense, including 360 yards passing with four
touchdowns to go along with 93 yards rushing. Pecikonis led the Rams with eight receptions for
136 yards and two touchdowns and Omigie had four catches including the game-winner. Talon
Smith, Rasberry, Trey Green, Anthony Yancy and Donovan Thompson each had three receptions
in the game. Green also finished the game with 51 yards rushing on 11 carries, while Ryan Byrd
ran for 17 yards on five carries.
Rush Seaver led the ASU defense with 16 tackles, including nine solo takedowns and one
tackle for loss. Blair Smith added 10 tackles, Clayton Callicutt contributed nine and London Dial
finished the game with seven tackles. Lawrence recorded his second interception of the season
by picking off Woerner’s pass with three seconds remaining in the game. Lawrence also had an
interception earlier this season at home against A&M-Commerce.
