Work Experience
08/2014 – 06/2015 Company: Belgacom (Proximus)
Storage Architect / Project Manager
My function at Proximus was to assist in the project management for a storage replacement (lifecycle)
program where EMC VMAX and VNX storage boxes were replaced by newer models. The EMC
Recoverpoint technology was introduced for replication and high available purposes. In my architect role
I have evaluated, improved and documented the HP Storage solutions. Additionally I created a complete
operational manual following the best practices for both HP storage platforms (3PAR & P9500) for the
Proximus operations team.
• Project Management of the Lifecycle replacement program (ODR2014) where the storage platforms
were renewed. Here it was my task to follow up the steps performed by the Vendor (EMC) and to
coordinate within the Proximus teams while respecting all in place customer procedures.
• Implementation of an extensive documentation repository providing a detailed Storage overview per
system and integrated the documentation in the existing sharepoint platform.
• Provided an operations manual for HP 3PAR and P9500 storage.
• Review and adaption of the HP 3PAR and P9500 to be aligned according to HP best practices.
• Assist with the integration of the VMWare environment for the EMC VNX and HP 3PAR storage to
allow self provisioning and failover handled from within the VMWare environment.
02/2009 – 08/2014 Company: Fortis Investments Management (BNP Paribas IP)
ICT Infrastructure Architect / Project Manager
As Architect I was the technical advisor of the customer. My function consisted mainly in designing,
advising, evaluating and documenting solutions. This was mainly focused on but not limited to the
following topics:
• Drive the evaluation and selection of products that play a key factor in a total solution design.
• Assess business cases, project proposals, and project deliverables, to determine the impact on, and
compliance with the infrastructure in place also considering sizing and capacity planning.
• Define Hardware architectures and baseline standards for servers and high-end storage solutions.
• Align business requirements with the outsourcing partner and review vendor proposals.
• Review in place processes and improve where required.
Example of Projects & Designs/Implementations done:
• Design, implementation and project management for VEEAM 7.0 backup & replication for an
environment of 800+ Virtual Servers.
• Design and Project Management for the complete Storage infrastructure consolidation in FY 2012-

several projects and was a key player in Vendor management of the different Technology Companies.
07/2004 – 01/2009 Company: HP
Mission Critical & Pro Active Account Engineer
As assigned Engineer I assisted contract customers by providing pro-active & re-active services. Working
for several customers (Fortis Investments, Swift, Philips, Skynet, etc…) and helping them on any Microsoft,
Storage or HP related question or problem. This involves pro-active and re-active telephone & on site
assistance. The supported product range covers all Microsoft products (from a broad range between
basic windows 2000/XP/Vista until clustered exchange 2003 servers) and the HP Enterprise Virtual Array
Storage system. It is very common for customers in the Mission Critical business to request their assigned
account engineer to review or health check their most critical Windows & EVA Storage systems. A rather
large part of my time I was involved in designing and implementing/migrating the customer’s most
critical systems.
Some examples of my latest projects:
• 2 node SQL 2000 (32 bit) migration to 4 node SQL 2005 (64 bit) system.

Other Experiences
• Project Management, working with Crisis Management teams, Planning & Statistics.
• Web development:
For friends and family which have a small business I have designed a website which comes close
to professional services as some of these include full e-commerce with a webshop that is linked
with all popular payment services (MisterCash, Bancontact, iDEAL, etc...).
Some references:
www.elitenaturel.be
www.danos-bbq.be
• Participation of 50% of an Distributor in Ventilation Products (Belgovent). During a period of 16
months I was actively involved (average 12h / week) in running a small company with 10 people.
This provided me lots of insights on the specific challenges that come by running a company
from sales to delivering after support. The combination of a full time job in ICT with running an
additional company was a nice experience but not that easy to combine. When I received an offer
by my business Partner to buy my part of the shares this delivered me the opportunity to focus
again to consulting services.
• Implementations of several NT & Windows 2000/2003 networks for smaller companies.
• CSP Workgroup (2001-2002):
Company Simulation Program in this workgroup we mend to create realistic company setups to
discuss migration and implementation plans on a certain environment.
We where not just installing a DNS, Wins, Exchange or IIS environment without first discussing all
possible migration scenarios. After the review we would select which plan seems to give the
greatest advantages and fits to solve the presented problems.
• Cisco Workgroup (2000-2001):
Lead a Cisco workgroup with 2 colleagues.
We supplied general networking information with Cisco Products.(Routers and switches).
There where 2 goals :
1. To gain practical experience with Cisco products as it is not always possible to test all options
on a live production environment (like : testing of different routing protocols).
2. To get the group of attendances ready to get the Cisco Certified Network Associate certificate.
• Symbiosis Lanparty 2000 :
Setup of a Lan-Party for 50 pc’s with a full network containing all necessary accommodations
from electricity to network cabling, from hubs to switches and from NT4 to Windows 2000 servers
which supplied DHCP, Wins, IIS & Game services.
• 1998–2000 Hobbies :
Linux computer club
Supplied Linux courses (Suse/Redhat) for the Limburg Linux User Group. (HCC)
Created some course materials and held lectures.
