The document discusses the anatomy of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It found that the ACL has two functional bundles, an anteromedial bundle (AMB) and a posterolateral bundle (PLB). During knee flexion and extension, the bundles are not isometric with the main change being lengthening of the AMB and shortening of the PLB. The study provides new insights into the anatomy and biomechanics of the ACL to help improve surgical reconstruction.
