Who We Are
 The Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU) is a
 duly registered, non-stock, non-profit organization of
 ICT professionals, students and advocates united in
 Advancing ICT for the People.
Who We Are
A Short History
 CPU was founded in August 7, 
 2001 by ICT professionals who 
 joined the People Power 2 
 Movement.



     CPU pioneered in organizing the 
     Philippine celebration of Software 
     Freedom Day in 2004.



            CPU was officially registered in 
            the Securities and Exchanges 
            Commission in 2008.
A Short History
 In February 2009, CPU participated 
 in the Information Activism Camp in 
 India as advisory group member.



      In July 2009, CPU conducted AOM 
      2.0, the first nation‐wide workshop on 
      integrating Information Activism in 
      Grassroots Campaigns.



             In the 2010 automated elections
             CPU conducted voter education 
             and election monitoring through 
             the Vote Report PH project.
What We Do

         New Media Trainings – We train non-
         profits and advocacy organizations in the
         use of various digital tools for their
         campaigns.


         Project People’s Web – We help create,
         develop and maintain web portals for
         various organizations and campaigns.
What We Do
         Applications & Systems – We develop and
         train in the use of databases, management
         systems, and other applications for
         advocacy work.


         Digital Resources Bureau – We help
         reservice old hardware for, as well as
         maintain and streamline hardware systems
         of non-profits and cause-oriented
         organizations.
What We Do
 FOSS Advocacy – CPU is a leading promoter of Free and
 Open Source Software or FOSS as an alternative in the
 industry and as a tool for advocacy.
Advance ICT for the People
  “Our efforts are linked with the struggle of the Filipino
  people to improve their general situation. Our projects are
  based on their needs; our training modules are for their
  benefit. They are our clients and our project managers: we
  shall advance and develop ICT for their welfare.”
