The document discusses how wisdom is obtained through personal interaction with God, rather than just knowledge about God. It states that true wisdom comes from encountering God directly, as Jesus provides the way to come to God the Father. Preparing oneself through activities like reading the Bible, prayer, and service helps make oneself ready to encounter God's presence, where one can feel rearranged spiritually and experience healing emotionally and physically.

1. Wisdom is defined as, “the quality of having experience, knowledge, and
good judgment.” Knowledge is information we hear, but wisdom is applying a
personal experience in order to make better decisions. We know well that
wisdom is the principle thing (Prov. 4:7), but how do we get wisdom? How do we
obtain experience? Encountering a living God is one way. Jesus said He was
the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). No one can come to the Father, but
through Him. Though the world offers a version of wisdom, it cannot deliver the
truth. The only wisdom that brings life is from above and that is “first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without
hypocrisy,” James 4:17.
Wisdom is more than a concept, He is a living and active God. It is by
personal interaction with this God that wisdom is acquired. It is the principle
thing, because He is the principle thing. When we are knit to His heart in quiet
solace He teaches us His way so we may have a long and abundant life, of
which is also only through Jesus (John 10:10). The question that only really
matters is, what is the status of your encounter with the Father? Jesus’ entire
mission was to reopen the doorway to the Father. Jesus has cleansed us from
that which distanced us from Himself, however He says, “he who has bathed
needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean,” John 13:10. A daily
moisturizing in God’s presence is the encounter you probably lack. Washing
your feet daily in the soothing waters of His presence is the principle thing.
Open the pages of your Bible, close the door and rest in the prayer closet,
serve without reward, toss your agenda and open your heart. Prepare a
welcome atmosphere for Him to come; He is not bound by how ready you are,
but when you take the time to make ready yourself for Him, you will feel a
rearranging of your spirit, soul and body.
“Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars;
she has slaughtered her meat, she has mixed her wine, she has
also furnished her table. She has sent out her maidens, she cries
out from the highest places of the city, “whoever is simple, let him
turn in here!” As for him who lacks understanding, she says to
him, “Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.
Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of
understanding.”
-Prov 9:1-6
Banquets of large dining halls of nobility take hours or maybe days to
prepare. The sound of servers clamoring about trying to have ready every
aspect of the experience for those invited fills the house with energy and a rich
anticipation. Then, when the guests of honor come, they feel right at home
because the atmosphere reflects their culture of grandeur. We have no qualms
about doing so for houseguests, but we don’t think twice often of robbing God of
His time with us, and in our folly, we are without wisdom. Encountering the
fullness of God when we have made our hearts and minds ready rearranges any
imbalance in our physical and emotional bodies. No wonder there is healing in
2. His presence, where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (2 Cor 2:17). Just by
making yourself ready you have liberty. I challenge you with an exercise if you
desire a greater encounter with the Father: before you sit down to read or pray,
prepare your house, wash your dishes, tidy your laundry, stack your books,
whatever must be done as you would for guests. As you do so your mind is
slowing down in order for you body to slow down and heal itself from sickness,
anxiety, bodily pains, even heart ache. Then, when you encounter God, you can
thank Him for His wisdom that heals.
