  1. With a Focus on Striploin Customer Specifications Whether the short loin is converted to a striploin by automated, semi-automated or manual processing, the final step is to trim the striploin to suit customer specifications. The first enabler for this process is Sensing. Trimming tools are only relevant if sensing can be achieved. CT scanning will be one solution, however There is indication that a combination of Ultrasound and 3D profiling maybe a cheaper sensing solution. AMPC will Focus on completing this sensing R&D next. Successful sensing R&D will initially lead to in plant improvements by providing operational staff with guidance on where to trim. Also, upon successful sensing R&D, further trimming tool automation R&D will also be initiated.
