Alquat RD- is a formaldehyde-free cationic dye-fixing agent that improves the wash fastness and wet fastness properties of direct and reactive dyeings on cellulosic fibers. It enhances fastness to water, perspiration, wet ironing, and laundering. Alquat RD- strengthens the binding of dyes to fibers so they retain their original hue without fading or running when exposed to conditions like washing, cleaning, or wetting. Test results show it improves color fastness, particularly for cold wet fastness and fastness to perspiration in both acid and alkali conditions.

8. Colour fastness
The property of pigment or dye or the leather, cloth ,
Paper ink etc. containing the colouring matter to retain
Its original hue especially without fading, running or
Changing when wetted, washed, cleaned or stored under
Normal conditions,when exposed to light heat or other
Influences.
A dye will run if it has a weak affinity for the material it
Is attached to or a much stronger for a non aqueous
Solvent.
ALQUAT helps dyes to bind strongly to the fibres of
Cloth to minimise running.
