The Allegheny Plateau Region is the largest region in Pennsylvania and contains the Allegheny Mountains, which are part of the Appalachian Mountains. The mountains, valleys, and plateaus of the region were carved out over time by large glaciers. Although it features mountains and valleys, the region is considered a plateau. Key landmarks include Mount Davis, which is Pennsylvania's highest point, Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater House, and Ganoga Falls. Pittsburgh is located where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers meet to form the Ohio River, and its manufacturing industries have included steel and glass production.
