Aladdin and Ali-Baba have some similarities and differences. Aladdin is a young thief who steals food from shops, while Ali-Baba is an older married man. A key difference is that Aladdin finds and befriends a genie, which plays a central role, whereas a genie is not mentioned at all in Ali-Baba. Additionally, people die in Ali-Baba, such as Ali-Baba's brother killed by thieves, whereas no one dies in Aladdin. Both stories include villains - Aladdin features one main villain while Ali-Baba features the villainous Forty Thieves who are killers.
