Antoni Gaudí was a Spanish architect born in 1852 in Reus, Catalonia who created a new architectural style called modernism based on natural shapes and forms. He is most famous for designing the Sagrada Familia basilica in Barcelona, which he worked on from 1883 until his death in 1926, leaving it incomplete. He also designed a futuristic hotel for Manhattan in 1908 that was never built.
