A 1965 US labor report found that breaking down the family structure, as occurred under slavery, disrupts the transmission of appropriate nurturing behavior from parents to children.
Epigenetics
Epigenetics is the study of how genetic traits are expressed or suppressed in response to environmental and developmental factors rather than changes to the underlying DNA sequence. Epigenetic changes, such as methylation and histone modification, can turn genes on or off and determine which proteins are produced in a cell. While the term epigenetics was coined in the 1940s, it was not until the 21st century that epigenetics rose to prominence as a field examining how factors outside direct DNA changes can regulate gene expression and influence phenotypes.

(3) Similarly, Carl Von Linneaus published one of the first modern studies of man, categorizing humans into four distinct races (Europeanus, Americanus, Asiaticus, Africanus) based on skin tone and stereotypical behaviors, helping to propagate the ideology of racial superiority.
