The Multi-Function Cockpit Display Unit (MCDU)
is hardware compliant to ARINC 739A-1. The
MCDU is compatible with COTS operating
systems (Linux, Windows®
XPe, etc.), and the
5.7" color AMLCD and keypad lighting can be
configured for NVIS operation. Keypad and
annunciator legends can be easily modified to
customer-specific applications.
Standard interfaces include ARINC 429,
RS-422/485, Ethernet, RS-232, and USB.
Additional interfaces (MIL-STD-1553) are
supported by adding PC-104/PC-104+ modules.
Also available are optional video capture circuit
card and application software that support video
inputs (NTSC/RS-170), which can be displayed
on the screen. The MCDU is powered by
standard 28 V DC aircraft power.
