This document discusses the expanding continuum of space technology from the past to the future. It outlines several milestones that may be achieved such as San Antonio becoming the first Moon-Mars city and a person not yet born becoming the first human on Mars. Key enabling technologies are identified for exploration including life support systems and human-ware technologies to support isolated and remote human environments. The document argues for establishing new institutions like a Virtual Space Academy, Space Exploration Policy Institute, and Space/Virtual Technology Forum to advance leadership and expand the continuum of space technology to enable future human exploration of other planets.

The ILOA co-sponsors with its Space Age Publishing Company affiliate an international series of Galaxy Forums to advance 21st Century Education. Galaxy Forums, designed to provide greater global awareness, capabilities and action in Galaxy science, exploration and enterprise, are held in Hawaii, Silicon Valley, Canada, China, India, Japan, Europe, Africa, Chile, Brazil, Southeast Asia, Kansas and New York. Current plans are for expansion to Antarctica and beyond.
ILOA Galaxy Forum Canada 2014 - Bernard Foing - Moon South Pole ExplorationILOAHawaii
Galaxy Forum Canada 2014, with the theme “Moon South Pole and Human Missions: Giant Steps into the Galaxy” was held in conjunction with the 65th International Astronautical Congress at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Ontario, Canada. Thousands of scientists, engineers and experts from around the world gather to explore the latest achievements, innovations and ambitions of worldwide space agencies, industries and enterprises.
The Moon’s South Pole is as exciting and enriching a new frontier as humans on Mars or trillion dollar asteroids, and much closer in time and space.
The distinguished international, national and independent experts assembled for the event consider how robotic missions 2016-2018 can function as precursors to Human Moon missions in the 2020s. A fusion of astrophysics and astronautics, the ILOA Galaxy Forum will preview upcoming Luna missions and priorities of major spacefaring powers China, India, Russia, USA, Europe and Japan, as well as Canada, Korea and others; and of the remarkable enterprises at the forefront of the commercial Lunar Renaissance.
The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) is an official co-sponsor for Galaxy Forum Canada 2014 and is providing a plenary hall at the IAC venue for the event.
Galaxy Forums are free and open to the general public. More information about the program will be available soon. If you have any questions, please contact info@iloa.org.

Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) ESIP 2019 Summer Meeting - Day 2 Plenary – Tacoma, WA, July 17, 2019 In thinking about my remarks this morning, it occurred to me that there is very little that I could say to an outstanding community such as yours that you haven’t already heard. I do know, however, that one of the hallmarks of your community is your wonderful ethic of sharing, of giving, and your deep understanding that the more you GIVE in this community, the more you RECEIVE, and all toward better science for everyone, and better actions to literally save our planet.
Toward this end, I want to share some remarks under a fun Star Wars theme, which I hope you’ll enjoy. These thoughts are about getting people to actually USE the resources that we’ve worked so very hard to build, and thus is in keeping with your conference theme: “Data to Action: Increasing the Use and Value of Earth Science Data and Information.”

GRAND CHALLENGES FOR ENGINEERING COMMITTEE
A diverse committee of experts from around the world, some of the most accomplished
engineers and scientists of their generation, proposed the 14 challenges outlined in this
booklet. The panel, which was convened by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering
(NAE) at the request of the U.S. National Science Foundation, did not rank the challenges
selected, nor did it endorse particular approaches to meeting them. Rather than attempt
to include every important goal for engineering, the panel chose opportunities that
were both achievable and sustainable to help people and the planet thrive. The panel’s
conclusions were reviewed by more than 50 subject-matter experts. In addition, the effort
received worldwide input from prominent engineers and scientists, as well as from the
general public. The NAE is offering an opportunity to comment on the challenges via the
project’s interactive Web site at www.engineeringchallenges.org.

It’s a moral and strategic imperative that humanity gets to space, and does so soon. We have a ticking time bomb on our hands, but we don’t know when the clock is going to run out. In short, we are overdue for an extinction-level event.
As we’ve dug deeper into the Space Startup market over the 6 months since our original Space as a Platform thesis post in mid-2016, we’ve come to a frightening realization.
There are not enough people investing their time nor dollars into the required areas of space to enable us as a species to get there. It’s simply not going to happen, folks.
ENABLING INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL: THE NEED FOR A DIVERSE MIX OF ADVANCED ENERGY C...AM Publications
This paper represents a joint effort of various scholars, independent scientists and a student operating through the Interstellar Travel MeetUp group, based in Washington, D.C. in the United States of America. The project was presented during the 68th International Astronautical Federation Congress, which took place in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2016. Our paper provides a systematic evaluation of power systems in terms of their power generation capacity, size, risks and availability led to the finding that no current one single power system can be relied upon for interstellar travel. Our contribution offers considerations on topics such as space resupply stations, wireless power transmission to spaceships (while at high velocity, using tracking/tethering with lasers), as well as harvesting drones. Futuristic propulsion technologies like the ionic levitation, laser, warp and solar concentrator are considered as alternatives for current propulsion systems. In addition to placing an emphasis on fundamental physics and propulsion research, the authors propose two novel initiatives that will advance interstellar technology while producing already-valuable technologies for terrestrial and orbital use: 1) An educational development initiative – The ‘Nicola Energy City Kit’is based on existing wireless power transmission technology and existing CanSat technology – to advance wireless power and data transmission for terrestrial and interstellar use. These technologies can affordably be tested on Earth first, and then in space. We propose a broad-based open education program that also motivates students to engage in STEM-related jobs. 2) A mobile save testing bed (‘sandbox’) for radical energy concepts – The UMPH lab is an unmanned outpost that accumulates large quantities of matter in save distance from Earth and conducts autonomous experiments, while harvesting energy or matter for the science and in-orbit resupplies.
Teleportation belongs to Quantum Physics, Quantum Teleportation is a process by which quantum information (e.g. the exact state of an atom or photon) can be transmitted (exactly, in principle) from one location to another, with the help of classical communication and previously shared quantum entanglement between the sending and receiving location.
