The three-story Alumni Engineering Labs building at Drexel University was built in 1950 and originally intended as a research facility. It currently houses labs, offices, and classrooms but has experienced a shortage of space due to campus growth. The building also has outdated mechanical and structural systems and poor circulation between floors. The renovation project aims to expand the building vertically by adding two floors, reconfigure the interior layout to better distribute department spaces, improve the HVAC system, and upgrade the building envelope and structure. An analysis of the building's current conditions was conducted to inform the renovation design.
